As much as we all want to pretend that life with babies and kids is peachy and perfect, us moms know better! Have you ever had an experience with your little ones that, after it was over, you thought to yourself, "Damn, I should get an award for that!!!!" Well, don't wait for someone else to give you one, now, thanks to The First Years, you can give yourself an award! The First Years just introduced The Brag Badge , a fun and unique way for moms to share all the important FIRSTS that are a way of life for us! Not only is The Brag Badge a great way to celebrate milestones, it's also a way to laugh at those all too common, not-so-perfect mommy moments, and remember that we are all in this together! ("Oh, her kid just peed in the closet too?? Shew, what a relief!!") Here's my brag badge: This is the official "I'm The Idiot That Took Two Kids Camping In The Rain" badge!! Would you like to create your own and share with your frie...
hey dawn! thanks so much for visiting dessert or diet! your blog had me cracking up on your profile, stating you could use a friend and a beer! so adorable!
ReplyDeleteadvice for your friend. dont try to stick to the 3 or 4 hour feeding schedule! when the kid is hungry just freaking feed it!!! AND when it's bed time, just put them to bed. they will figure it out! i learned the hard way, and found myself rocking each one to sleep, every flipping night!!! xoxo
Congratulations to your friend! :)All I can think of is: 1. Relax, there is no such thing as a perfect mom.
ReplyDelete2. If you need a hand or advice, ask for it.
3. ENJOY the small, simple things with your child while you can cause when you blink, they'll be grown.

Hi Dawn! I love you already! Love the header, ya, no kidding, where in hell are the instructions! I can't give your friend any advice, I don't have a clue what the hell I'm doing with my four, I wouldn't dare harm an unborn child! I will so be back lady!
ReplyDeleteYay, that is so exciting!
ReplyDelete1. Trust your instincts.
2. It's your opinion that matters. Take advice with a grain of salt, and in the end always stick with what YOU think is right.
3. Take the baby out places when it's young & can't move/crawl/talk yet. Soon you will not have the opportunity anymore!
4. Sleep when the baby sleeps. Yes, I know EVERYONE says this, but with your first kid, their naps are a gift, especially in the first 2-3 weeks.
5. If you're planning to breastfeed, do some research while you're pregnant. It's not always easy for everyone, and hopefully it will be for you, but know what to do if you're having problems.
I'm sorry- I would love to give advice to your friend, but I've never brought an amazing creature of my flesh into this world. But congratulations to your friend!!! Babies are so fun and cute! I like playing with my BFF's baby. lol.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, thank you so much for the sweet comment on my blog. Followin' you back, girl!! :) :)

ReplyDeleteThanks for the follow!
I am following you now
1st- YAY FOR CRYSTAL!!!!!! CONGRATS HUN!!!
ReplyDelete2nd- advice, sleep every chance you get, you won't get nearly as much as you think you will! also, feed when baby is hungry, screw the "professionals" it's come to my attention that most of them don't have kids at home anyway lol
I would say this: She will be the best mummy that baby will ever have. Nobody else will ever know or love that child like she will. She just needs to remember it every day. Also, sleep deprivation will pass. It really will.
ReplyDeleteBTW: When reading a discussion on attracting followers your blog's title caught my eye - so I thought I'd comment (new to blogging but she has been good to me so far!). So I followed for you! Jane
