I really dont know which of my boys has enjoyed this toy more! Tater has really enjoyed making tons of "accidents" and helping people with the Jaws of Life tool. He has really liked the fact that this toy fits right in with all of his other Tonka Road Crew trucks!

My little Bean has also been a big fan of this truck. He loves the lights and sounds, and it is just big enough for him to push around. It doesn't have super small parts that I have to worry about him putting in his mouth, and it is easy for him to roll along.

Well, it's finally time for Mom here on our Gift Guide!

Hard Candy Cosmetics is one of my favorite cosmetic companies! They are sold exclusively at Wal-Mart and they make some of the cutest cosmetics around! We recently got the chance to try a couple of their Holiday Gift Sets and they are adorable! 

This is the liquid eyeliner gift set! It comes with four gorgeous shades! One is black, one is gold glittery, one is purple/silvery glittery, and one is silver glittery. My favorite is definitely the purple glittery one! They are so cute! And another great part of this gift set is that it is only $5.00! Love it! 

The other gift set that we got to try was the Five Pack Nail Polish Set! I love these little nail polishes! They come in adorable little bottles that would be perfect stocking stuffers! All the holiday colors are adorable! There is a dark plum shiny color, an orange glittery color, a green glittery color, and both a silver and gold glittery color! They are so cute! I have been wearing the green sparkly one for the last few days and it has stayed on perfectly! It is such a nice holiday color! And, just as wonderfully, it only costs $5.00!!

Hot Gift: DaGeDar for Nintendo DS!

Um okay. It's time for another one of those boy gifts. You know, the ones that us moms just do not understand. Same as when I told you about Redakai, Bakugan, etc. It's a boy thing, and we just don't get it. But trust my five year old. DaGeDar is cool. For real mom! (That's what he says!)

Okay, if you aren't familiar at all, DaGeDar is a kind of racing ball toy that is sold in the toy sections of stores. They "battle" each other, racing down special stunt tracks. These are the DaGeDar balls the game is based off of: 

Anyhow, this game is based of off this toy. There are over 100 different DaGeDar to unlock and race! The tracks are amazing, with tons of loops, jumps, stunts, etc. as well as a ton of obstacles to avoid. Tater really liked that you can play with friends or battle the bad guys alone! He was really into which DaGeDar he had unlocked and which ones he still needed to get. 

He also really liked the music in the game. I caught him dancing during the races several times! It was too funny! The game has thirty-three levels, and like I said before, over 100 DaGeDar to unlock, so I know that this game will be keeping him occupied for awhile! You can play against another person or play against the computer. Tater said he likes it much better when you play against another person.

All in all, even though I don't understand this game, it is pretty cool. It reminds me a lot of Hot Wheels tracks that my brothers and I used to play with when I was little. Tater is really a big fan and I am glad that I got to learn a little bit about this game!

Hot Gift! Leapfrog Tag Junior Reading System!

Today guys, I am really excited to tell you guys about the Leapfrog Tag Junior Reading System. Not only because it is a great educational toy, which it is, but because ever since I started as a blogger I always wanted to get the chance to work with Leapfrog!So, not only is this an exciting review because of the awesome toy we got to review, but it was great for me to reach a personal goal of my own in working with this wonderful company!

We became very familiar with Leapfrog products when Tater was a preschooler. His Leapster and Leapster 2 were among some of his very favorite toys, and as the mommy, I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of them. Now it is the Bean's turn to get into the Leap Frog fun!

The Tag Junior Reading System is designed especially for little ones ages 1-4. I was truly surprised that it was geared towards babies as young as Bean. At 18 months, he is really into board books, but I wasn't so sure that this toy would hold his interest the way I wanted it to. The starter kit comes with one Tag Junior book pal, a USB cable, and a sample board book. This is a great way to get the feel for the Tag Junior and to see if it is a good fit for your child. The Tag Junior requires 2 AAA batteries also.

We received the Scout book pal, and he is super cute! Now, this toy is really easy to use, which was something I was a little worried about. You can download the audio for the books easily to the Book Pal, so he is ready to go. Then you and your child can use the Book Pal to "read" the books.The Book Pal tells the story, and allows your child to explore the pictures, words, everything on the page! The Tag Junior really does "bring books to life", and helps teach all kinds of things, from letters, to numbers, shapes, rhyming words, colors, matching, etc. Not to mention reading comprehension skills and simple things like how to hold a book!

We also received the Ready To Read Book Set with our Tag Junior. This is a great set of seven additional books that you can use with your Book Pal! The stories in the books are cute, and short enough that Beanie doesn't get bored! They teach vowel sounds, all while engaging your child in a fun story.

I have been really impressed with the Tag Junior in the short time that we have had it. Bean is not a careful guy in the least, but this toy has really held up and hasn't shown any signs of weakness. We have only been using it a short time, but I can tell that this is a really durable toy that will last us a long time! Bean's favorite part is that the Tag Junior knows his name! My favorite part is that he is really showing an increased interest in books and has actually brought this toy to us on several occasions. That is something he has never done with regular books. He would only play with them when we brought them out. I can already see his love for reading growing since introducing him to this toy. That in and of itself makes this toy well worth the $34.99 MSRP.

However, let me show you what Santa just found while browsing around the Leap Frog site.. I thought maybe we could get him some extra books for Christmas to keep him interested.. and you will never believe what we found:

Yes, folks that is ELMO! (IF you are not following along, Bean has a real, full blown OBSESSION with the furry red guy! He carries three Elmo dolls around all day every day, cried hysterically when we left Elmo when Sesame Street Live was over, and is getting almost every Elmo toy imaginable for Christmas!) If he didn't love the Tag Junior already, he sure will now!!! And if your little one's obsession isn't red and furry, you can also get additional board books with Toy Story characters, Cars characters, Winnie The Pooh and Nickelodeon Characters like Dora and Backyardigans! Whatever your child's "Thing" is, you can get them books that cater to their likes! I love that!

We have really enjoyed getting started with the Tag Junior Reading System and I know it will provide many many hours of fun for my little guy! Now, I am going to have to get a regular Tag Reader for Tater, because for once, he says the baby has a cooler toy than him! Now that doesn't happen often!

Hot Gift! Max and the Magic Marker for DS!

Well, it is no secret that around here we love our DS Games. After last year's horrifying loss of Tater's DSi (thrown in the toilet by his then-one-year-old brother!), we have thoroughly recovered thanks to Nintendo's wonderful 3DS. The capability of the 3DS to play both 3DS and original DS games has been a lifesaver to us, and we are happy to be able to tell you about another great new game! 

Backstory: 

Max and the Magic Marker tells the story of Max, an adventurous young boy who receives a mysterious marker pen in the mail. Playing around with it, he discovers that whatever he draws comes to life and the stage is set for a classic platform adventure romp. The player controls Max using the DS stylus, as well as the magic marker itself, as he hops and jumps through a series of levels using the marker’s fabulous powers to draw objects directly into the game world and to solve a wide range of puzzles in his efforts to catch the monster he created using his magic marker.

First of all, Max is super cute! IGN actually describes him as looking like a young Conan O'Brien, which is perfect! Max receives a real life MAGIC magic marker, and makes a big mistake when he draws a monster, who then becomes real and invades all his drawings! Now Max is on the case to catch the monster, and he has his magic marker with him for help!

I love that this game allows you to "draw" your way out of sticky situations. I like that it takes a little bit of imagination and creativity to get through the game. It is so cool to be able to solve the puzzles on your own! This is a game that is perfect for Tater, as I really like to see a game that works his brain a little bit instead of the regular stuff.. 

I truly really  like this game and I can't wait for more games like this to be on the market. I would totally recommend Max and the Magic Marker as a different and new kind of game that actually involves some logical thinking skills!

Hot Gift! John Deere Ride on Tractor from Learning Curve

Next up on our holiday gift guide is a great gift for my little Beanie! I always feel so bad for my little guy, because his big brother always has all the best ride on toys, and he is just too little for them! But not anymore! 

From one of our favorite companies, Learning Curve, we recently got the chance to try out the John Deere Tot Tractor Ride On Toy! This is such a cute little tractor! 

It was so easy to put together, it took only a few minutes! Once we got it put together, it was clear to see that this is going to be a real winner around our house! The construction is solid and sturdy, and I know it will stand up to the hell that my boys will surely put it through! 

I like how the tractor is pretty low to the ground and the seat is narrow. It is really easy for my little guy to climb on and off of, which is a nice switch for him!He is still too little to peddle, so being able to push it along with his feet is a big plus for him!

This has definitely been one of our favorite toys that we have had the chance to try out this holiday season, and I would definitely recommend it for your little one! It is so nice for my little guy to finally have a ride on of his own!

Hot Gift! Learning Curve Percy At The Dieselworks Train Set!

Oh, trains.. Trains, trains, trains! As a mommy of two little boys, I have been ready for them to get to the age to where they would really enjoy a train set. I just feel like it's a real part of "boyhood", ya know?

Well, I recently got my chance for them to try out one of the most awesome train sets I have ever seen, and I feel so lucky to be able to share it with you! 

This awesome train set is made by Learning Curve, which is probably in the top 5 of my all time favorite companies for babies and children! From their Thomas The Train, John Deere and Dinosaur Train toys for big kids, to Lamaze and First Years products for babies, they are always my go- to brand for whatever my kids need! 

This time around, we got the chance to review the AWESOME Percy at The Dieselworks Train Set. This is really a high quality toy, not a cheaply made knock off! 

This train set was inspired by the DVD "Day Of The Diesels", and is designed for ages 3 and up. There are multiple areas to load and unload cargo, which is a very important part of train work! :) 

The boys' favorite part, by far, is the red glowing diesel shed. They just think it is too cool that it lights up! Tater also really likes the crane. The best part of this toy to me, is how sturdy it is. The tracks and the engines themselves are very well made. The tracks don't fall apart every five seconds like SOME train sets. 

My little Bean is only almost 2, but when him and his older brother are playing with this set together, he really has a good time playing with it. I don't have to worry about him choking. The pieces are small, but not small enough for me to worry about him swallowing them, at least not when his brother, or me are right there with him! 

If you are looking for a really great, high quality train set that will last your kids for years and years, this is the one for you!

Review: Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion 30 Day Smoothing Kit

I have to say one of my favorite parts of being a blogger is the chance to try new products and give my opinions on them! I have really been lucky to try so many great products that I probably wouldn't have gotten the chance to try had it not been for my blog!

I got a great opportunity recently to try a great new product from Suave Professionals. They have just introduced a new product, the Keratin Infusion 30 Day Smoothing Kit! I have always wanted to get a Keratin treatment at the salon, but they are just so expensive! This was a perfect chance for me to get to try an at home treatment! 

I have always struggled with my hair, as long as I can remember. My hair is not only super thick, but curly/wavy, and FRIZZY! I have never really been able to "tame" it, but I have been able to calm it down a bit. My usual routine is shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, straightening balm, heat protector spray, blow dry, more heat protector spray, shine spray, flat iron, and hairspray. Seriously. Every. Single. Day. I was really excited to try this Keratin treatment to see if it could help at least cut down on the steps involved in making my hair look decent! 

I wish that I would have thought to take a "before" picture before beginning this process, but yesterday, the stars just aligned.. Tater was at school, and Bean was taking a nap, and FINALLY! A free moment for me to try this! So, I kinda jumped the gun a bit and ran to get it done!

The Keratin Infusion 30 Day Smoothing Kit is essentially 3 steps. If you have colored your hair at home before, you will be fine. It is pretty easy to do! 

First of all, you shampoo your hair, and lightly condition with your normal products. You don't want to skip this part, because you are not supposed to shampoo for 48 hours after using this product, so you want your hair to start off as clean as possible. 

After you lightly towel dry your hair, you are ready to get started with step 1. Make sure to use an old towel, and wear your gloves. Step 1 is the Smoothing Creme. You should be forewarned, this stuff STINKS! It smells a lot like the "perm" smell at a hair salon, so I am sure you have smelled it before. But, hey, it gets the job done, so I can deal with the smell! :) You work the Smoothing Creme through your hair from roots to ends (but not massaging into roots like hair color). The kit comes with a comb that you use during this process to continually pull your hair straight while working the product through it. When your hair is thoroughly covered with all the creme, you start timing. My time, for my thick, curly, and frizzy hair, was the highest end of the spectrum, 25 minutes. You should comb your hair a few times while waiting to ensure that it stays straight. 

After your time is up, you rinse your hair with warm water for a minimum of five minutes to ensure that the creme is all out. Then it is time for Step 2. The cuticle seal cream goes on your hair next, and stays for seven minutes. Super fast, super easy. Then you rinse that out, and you are ready for the final step. Step 3 is the heat protection leave in conditioner. If you don't use all of this, you can save it for future use. After that, you are almost done! The box recommends that you blow dry your hair and possibly flat iron if desired. I was really excited to get to this part to see how it would look. 

I was really surprised that even though my hair was still wet, it was straight. Usually my hair is the curliest when it is wet. It was really weird to see it like that, since I have never had my hair be wet, but straight at the same time. That was the moment I knew that I liked this product! 

Of course, I forgot an after picture. But here is a picture from this morning. I haven't even brushed my hair. Look how straight, and no frizzies! Love it!

I was a little wary to blow dry my hair without my usual arsenal of 100 products in it, but I went along with it anyway. Much to my surprise, my hair looked fabulous after just simply blow drying! I didn't even have to use my straightening balm or spray! I could definitely tell a difference in my hair. It seems "flatter", and much less "poofy." What was completely unbeliveable to me was that I DIDN'T need to flat iron. There has never been a time that I have blow dried my hair and not needed to flat iron. There are usually so many frizzies and flyaways that it isn't even an option. I am seriously impressed! 

The box says that this treatment will keep hair more mangeable for up to 30 days, and I am excited to see how it works during that time period. Stay tuned, for more updates from me about this product! So far, I am definitely a fan! I can simply blow dry my hair and go now, and that saves me so much time, not to mention money because I don't have to use the tons of hair products that I usually do! My hair is super soft, smooth and silky, and I have really never felt my hair like this. It usually is sticky from all the hairspray and product, or is so dry it feels like straw! 

I am definitely loving the new Keratin Infusion 30 Day Smoothing Kit from Suave Professionals, and I will be keeping you updated to how my hair behaves over the next month or so!

As you guys well know, I am super excited to have both a baby niece, and a baby niece due on New Years eve to buy Christmas gifts for this year! 

After 6+ years of nothing but boys, boys, boys, I am so happy to have a little bit of pink in my Holiday Gift Guide this year!

I gave the Tagacuda to Beanie for a little test run, and of course, the first thing he did was try to eat it.. (Hey, he's a fat guy, what can I Say?!) BUT, the next thing he did, was start playing with the tags. He was really concentrating on them, moving them around and messing with them! I can't wait to see our sweet little niece have a ton of fun with this fishie!

Hot Gift: Bright Starts Bunch-O-Fun!

You guys already know how much we love baby toys here! We recently got the chance to check out a great baby toy for our niece! 

Made by one of our favorite brands, (Bright Starts), the Bunch-O-Fun plush baby toys are so cute! These are plush toys and more! They contain tons of fun activities for babies, from head to toe!

These currently come in either a  blue elephant or a yellow cow. We have a baby girl in our family, so we were happy to review the (girlier) yellow cow! First of all, how cute is this little thing?

Hot Gift: Droid Bionic!

You guys already know by now, my love for all things Verizon! So, when we got a chance to test out the Droid Bionic recently, we were super excited. This was supposed to be an awesome phone, and it didn't disappoint!

(Those who enjoy technology like this cool phone sometimes think about taking computer
classes.)

First of all, it is just so pretty! 

This phone is really a top of the line. I have never seen anything like it before. What makes this phone really something else is that it has an optional lapdock that connects to the phone, making for a netbook style experience. I thought this was a really nice touch. 

How cool is this thing? 

I really liked the option to use the lapdock with this phone!

This phone is big, 4.3" on the screen! The display is crisp, clear, and just wonderful! It takes great pics with the 8 megapixel camera, and it has an extra screen for planning and viewing pictures, which I love!

The phone sounds great when making calls, I could hear people and they can hear me. No dropped calls as usual with Verizon's service!

This phone is FAST! Love it! Great for gaming, great for video streaming, and extremely great for web browsing! I totally recommend this phone for all the do it all moms out there!!

I love that Cooking Mama is now on the 3DS! You can use the stylus now as the ultimate cooking utensil, using it to chop, stir, slice, knead, etc.. And now you can use the awesome 3DS gyroscope to crack eggs, grate cheese, balance plates and more! The 3DS gives a whole new spin on the Cooking Mama experience! 

A really cool thing about this Cooking Mama game is that you can combine dishes to make your own unique dish. There are up to 416 different combinations! The recipes this time around include Designer Cupcakes, New England Clam Chowder, Corn Dogs, Cherry Pie, and Many More!!

They are so cute, and extremely trendy and hip! I have been waiting for a gift like this to impress my nieces! These things are so cute, I wish that they would have been around when I was younger! 

This is the Style Studio, kind of like the go-to station for creating your fashion accessories. It has four levels for you to store all of your beads, etc. You just twist to the one that you want, and press the button. The bead that you want is dispensed and goes down the chute, until you have all the pieces needed. 

See what I mean? You create the bracelet, necklace, keyring, whatever you want.. Not only is it cute and functional as jewelry, you can twist it a few times to create a little pet! It's kind of like a balloon animal! 

I am so impressed with these little cuties! They come in different styles like Funky, Glam, Wild, etc. so you can match them to your girls' personality!
