For Crystal

advice vs. sarcasm Pictures, Images and Photos

So, my best friend is pregnant! Finally! I am so very happy for her!

This is her first baby, so I thought I should put together a list of advice for her when she becomes a new mommy.

But, as usual, not so good with the advice.

So, ladies, what tips would you give to my best friend about becoming a mom for the first time??

  1. hey dawn! thanks so much for visiting dessert or diet! your blog had me cracking up on your profile, stating you could use a friend and a beer! so adorable!
advice for your friend. dont try to stick to the 3 or 4 hour feeding schedule! when the kid is hungry just freaking feed it!!! AND when it's bed time, just put them to bed. they will figure it out! i learned the hard way, and found myself rocking each one to sleep, every flipping night!!! xoxo

  2. Congratulations to your friend! :)All I can think of is: 1. Relax, there is no such thing as a perfect mom.
    2. If you need a hand or advice, ask for it.
    3. ENJOY the small, simple things with your child while you can cause when you blink, they'll be grown.

  3. Hi Dawn! I love you already! Love the header, ya, no kidding, where in hell are the instructions! I can't give your friend any advice, I don't have a clue what the hell I'm doing with my four, I wouldn't dare harm an unborn child! I will so be back lady!

  4. Yay, that is so exciting!

    1. Trust your instincts.
    2. It's your opinion that matters. Take advice with a grain of salt, and in the end always stick with what YOU think is right.
    3. Take the baby out places when it's young & can't move/crawl/talk yet. Soon you will not have the opportunity anymore!
    4. Sleep when the baby sleeps. Yes, I know EVERYONE says this, but with your first kid, their naps are a gift, especially in the first 2-3 weeks.
    5. If you're planning to breastfeed, do some research while you're pregnant. It's not always easy for everyone, and hopefully it will be for you, but know what to do if you're having problems.

  10. 1st- YAY FOR CRYSTAL!!!!!! CONGRATS HUN!!!
2nd- advice, sleep every chance you get, you won't get nearly as much as you think you will! also, feed when baby is hungry, screw the "professionals" it's come to my attention that most of them don't have kids at home anyway lol

  11. I would say this: She will be the best mummy that baby will ever have. Nobody else will ever know or love that child like she will. She just needs to remember it every day. Also, sleep deprivation will pass. It really will.

BTW: When reading a discussion on attracting followers your blog's title caught my eye - so I thought I'd comment (new to blogging but she has been good to me so far!). So I followed for you! Jane
