Tablevogue: Dress Up Your Ugly Table!

Hey guys, I just wanted to take a minute to tell you guys about an awesome product idea that I just got introduced to. The company is Tablevogue, and the idea is so simple, it's genius! They make table covers for those ugly, plain folding tables that we all have hanging out in our garage/shed that we use for entertaining. I love this idea! I hate having to throw a sheet or some crappy plastic table cloth over a folding table, leaving the legs hanging out and looking, well.. crappy! Tablevogue is perfect for turning any plain jane table into an elegant one!

What a great idea, right?!?

Look for Tablevogue in select Bed, Bath and Beyond stores, or shop online!
I really look for this to be the next trend in home entertaining!

Make sure to join them on Facebook for great promotions and giveaways! (Give them some comment love too!)

Disclosure: I was not compensated in any way for this post. I genuinely like this idea, and I love supporting other

Nordic Naturals Omega 3 Gummy Worms Review

I recently received a sample of Nordic Naturalsre Omega 3 Gummy Worms for kids to review. I was really excited to try these! I have heard that Omega 3 Supplements have been proven to help with brain function, well being, and coordination in children. I mean, really? Who doesn't need that?!?!? When I recently came across a new study that suggest that Omega 3 Supplements can decrease depression, anxiety, and behavioral problems, all while increasing learning, adaptability and happiness, I was ready to try these for my self! Well, in this case, for Tater's self...

The Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Gummy Worms are so cute! They look just like Tater's favorite candy. I love the fact that they have no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. They are gluten free, milk derivative free, and yeast free, too. They have a yummy strawberry flavor. I knew Tater would like them, but I didn't think they were bad at all, which is a very big deal!
Don't they look yummy?

A New Nordic Naturals Fan!
A big thanks to Nordic Naturals for letting us try these awesome gummies!

Soft Lips Winter Edition Review and Giveaway!

I will be the first one to admit, I am a little OCD when it comes to my lips. I always have to have lip balm, and I apply it probably 20 times a day. It's even worse in the winter, when my lips are always dry, wind-burned, and crusty. Yuck. I think the main problem is I can't really find a lip balm that does the job, one that I really like. Until now.

Softlips sent me their limited edition 5-pack of Winter flavors to review, and I was very impressed. They have 5 new Winter flavors: sugar & spice, winter mint, sugar cookie, sugar plum berry, and mint with a hint of vanilla. I can honestly say that I have never used a better lip conditioner. Usually the lip balms I use wear off within 30 minutes or so, but Softlips stayed on almost all day. Of course, I reapplied several times during the day, but I probably would have been fine had I not. I just constantly feel that need to keep putting it on, I am just so used to it wearing off.

I really love the winter flavors, too. My favorite is the winter mint. It smells just like Doublemint gum, which is my favorite! I love it! The sugar and spice and sugar cookie were close runners up though, and I know when I reach in my purse, no matter what flavor I pull out, it will be a good one!

If you would like to try out the limited edition Winter Flavors 5-pack, you can get it exclusively at the new Softlips Online Store for only $9.99!

And, that's not all! One lucky Flip Out Mama reader will win a limited edition Winter flavors 5 pack of their own! Here's how to win!

Holiday Gift Guide: 191Kids Made Me Cry.

Yes. They did. A company made me cry.

They took my little Tater, a little, tiny, lanky, scraggly baby boy, and turned him into this:

Excuse me, why is there a little man in these pictures?

191 Kids is by the creators of 191 Unlimited, an awesome guy's clothing company (started with just $191 by two best friends!). They knew there was a need to make the same awesome dress up, yet casual clothes that they were making for guys, in little boys sizes, so 191 Kids was born! They make the cutest shirts for little guys who need to look nice, but not "too dressy".

Look at some of the adorable shirts they have for little dudes:

Aren't they adorable?

They sent us two gorgeous shirts to review. We decided to try the first one last week when we went to see Santa.

Above, you see the end result.

He was SO pumped to wear his new shirt.

He goes: "I look like a daddy in this shirt!"

He thought he looked like a man! And he did!

It was so cute! It was a little long on him, but it was the one he wanted to wear, so we went with it.

I have really never seen him wear anything that made him "act" differently, but this shirt did.

He suddenly turned into a little man. He was acting cool, like a little teenager.

It was hilarious.

I was really impressed with the quality of the shirts from 191 Kids. They are fashionable and stylish, but also durable, and tough. I have washed his white one several times so far, and it is holding up just fine!

They also sent us an adorable red shirt to review, but we are saving that one for Christmas. As soon as we get some good pics of him in that one, I will be sure to post those too!

I really like these shirts from 191 Kids. It is hard to find little boys dress shirts that are also fashionable! They also have little boys shirts, starting at size 2T. At the rate Bean is going (6 months old wearing 12-18 months), I can get both the boys shirts from 191 Kids for Easter!

Thanks, 191 Kids, for the gorgeous shirts to review, and thanks for the tears!

I hate seeing my little guy look so grown up!

disclosure: I received a sample product in order to conduct this review. Although a sample product was received ,all opinions are my own and no monetary compensation was received. For the record, I did not "cry", but did get a little teary upon seeing my little man in his big boy shirt.

Holiday Gift Guide! Screenlife Games: Rudolph Edition

I'm really excited to tell you guys about this game! It's from Screenlife games, makers of the wonderful Scene It! DVD games, and it is everyone's favorite classic Christmas show, Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer! This was always my favorite TV Christmas Special when I was growing up and I was really excited to share it with Tater this year!

Here's what Screenlife games has to say about the Rudolph game:

(heehee, about their "reindeer game" bahahaaha.. I am such a dork.)

The Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer  DVD Game takes you and your family to the North Pole where your mission is to gather all the misfit toys that have been scattered all over due the horrible winter storm! While the main objective is to search and find these toys, there is a catch. You must find at least three different colored toys before the Abominable Snow Man (Bumble) finds and collects six toys on his own. Find your toys before he finds his, and you win!!! The concept is simple and makes it easy for children aged six years old and older to play! What is unique about this game is that it combines a board game with the interaction of a DVD game.  The DVD interaction will allow you to solve puzzles such as movie trivia (straight from the original Rudolph cartoon), concentration, sing-a-longs, sorting games and many more. As you play along, the DVD game will tell you what Bumble is up to and how close he is to finding all the misfit toys. Pay close attention and use a bit of strategy to get all your toys before he gets his, while exploring the different regions of the North Pole!! When Bumble steals a toy, it goes back to the Island of Misfit toys and your player's token gets moved back to the beginning, so BEWARE OF THAT BUMBLE!!!

Contents include the following:

  • One game DVD
  • One game board
  • 4 Player Movers including Rudolph, Hermey, Clarice and Santa Claus
  • One Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster Mover
  • 5 Mover Stands
  • 20 Toy Tokens
  • 1 Die

I couldn't wait to play this game with Tater. I love, love, loved this movie when I was little, and I was sure he would too. I was really excited to introduce him to Hermey, Clarice, Rudolph, and everyone else.

This is where the trouble began.

As soon as we tried setting up the game board, Tater ran screaming from the room.

It took me a few minutes to figure out what the hell was wrong with him.

Bumble, that's what.

Umm, that looks like a smile to me.

But, apparently not.

Tater was petrified of Bumble.

The kid that loves Call Of Duty, Zombies, Monsters, etc.

I mean really?

Not Scary.

But anyways, I had to hide Bumble for the first round of the game. Which made it kind of weird to play since the point is that Bumble is stealing toys.

But, thankfully, after playing the first round and watching the clips on the dvd, he came to the conclusion that Bumble really wasn't all that scary after all. (I mean, he IS smiling....)

So, we could continue playing normally after that.

I really enjoyed this game, and Tater was mesmerized that we could be playing a board game and using the DVD player at the same time. He really thought the narrator on the game knew what we were doing. He would say "pass the remote to the next player", and Tater would say "That's me, mom, he says give it to me!" It was really funny.

He really had fun playing this game, and I am looking forward to next year when perhaps he will be able to answer all the questions, and really "get" what the game is all about.

But, I really enjoyed showing him all my favorite characters, and now he is even asking to watch the real Rudolph movie more and more, so, that is totally okay with me!

Thanks so much Screenlife Games, for letting us add this game to our Holiday Traditions!

disclosure: i was provided with a sample product in order to conduct this review. all opinions are my own and no monetary compensation was given. Although my child was afraid, I think Bumble the Snow Monster is adorable.

Food Battles.

Okay, so for the first time in my parenting career, I just followed through with something.
So why do I feel like shit?

Tater has never had a problem with eating until recently.

Lately, all the kid does is walk around saying "I'm Starrrrvvving...."

So, I fix him something to eat, he takes one bite, and decides he doesn't want it.

So frusturating.

Then, ten minutes later, hes' "Starrrrrvinng" again.

Ahhhhh!

So, tonight, about 2 hours before dinner, I told him we were going to start a new family rule.

You can pick what you have for dinner but you have to eat it. All of it.

If you don't eat your dinner, all of it, you have to go to bed.

Okay, he's cool with that.

So, dinner time comes. He chooses a Kid Cuisine meal out of the freezer, which is fine with me.

Easy dinner night.

It is chicken nuggets, fries, chocolate pudding and corn. Yum, right?

No.

He eats one chicken nugget. And doesn't touch the rest.

He's done.

Oh, no. He's not.

I sit him down at the table.

Eat your dinner, I say, or you will have to go to bed, and miss a Christmas Movie.

Ten times. We do this. I counted.

He refuses to eat any more.

I scoop him up, put him in his bed, and kiss him goodnight.

I tell him I love him, and we already talked about the new dinner rule.

He cries hysterically.

About 15 minutes later, I go back to his room.

I sit at the foot of his bed and talk to him.

Two choices, go to bed, or come back to the kitchen and eat his dinner, then watch a movie.

He says he would rather go to bed than eat corn.

WTF? You are the one that CHOSE to eat that.

Sigh.

So he goes to bed.

And misses a Christmas movie.

I feel bad.

I really wanted him to come out and say "Okay, I will eat the corn now."

But no, he's sound asleep.

And I feel like shit.

Did I do the right thing?

Normally I would have just let him come back out and watch a movie anyway.

And probably eat some cookies.

This time I didn't cave.

The first time ever, I didn't cave.

I thought I would feel better.

Instead I feel like bitch mom.

Part of me feels like I should have made him something else to eat.

But then again, he CHOSE that meal in the first place.

Sigh.

I thought following through would feel better.

Now I'm watching The Grinch. Alone.

Parenting, you suck.

Review and Giveaway: OCEAN For Kids Nasal Spray

Sometimes review products have a way of getting to me at the perfect time.

This is one of those times.

My review sample of OCEAN For Kids Nasal Spray arrived on my doorstep on a day when both of my kids were following me around, snotty, congested, and funky.

I couldn't wait to try it!
OCEAN for Kids Nasal Spray is natural and non medicated, which makes me feel much better about giving it to my babies.

There are many uses for OCEAN for Kids Nasal Spray:

  • For general moisturizing during dry climates and cold temperatures, and while spending time in enclosed spaces (e.g., classrooms, train rides, air travel, etc.)
  • To relieve allergy, cold & flu symptoms in a safe, non-medicated manner
  • To help relieve congestion by thinning mucus
  • To return moisture lost due to drug-induced dryness
  • To help reduce nosebleeds from dryness
  • To moisturize and irrigate membranes following nasal surgery

I love the fact that you can use OCEAN For Kids on newborns. The Bean always has a stuffy congested nose, and I am afraid to use much on his little baby nose.
After using OCEAN For Kids Nasal Spray for several days, I am noticing a big improvement in the boys' sniffles. Tater isn't constantly complaining that his "nose can't breathe", and Bean even seems a lot better.

I really like the fact that I am able to use OCEAN daily for Tater to help his little nose when it is dry. I used to get nosebleeds a lot when I was little, and I really don't want him to have to deal with that.

If you would like more info on OCEAN For Kids Nasal Spray, just click here.

And, you can even win a bottle!

Here's how!

What I Got My Hubs For Christmas.

I am not much for spontaneity.

I like things nice and calm, planned out. No surprises.

I am also not big on exchanging gifts at Christmas.

Christmas is for my babies, not for hubs and me.

We haven't really exchanged gifts since the boys were born.

But I found the perfect gift for hubs this year.

And it's gonna knock his socks off!

This is the Sexy Santa's Little Helper
(BTW, it's the outfit, not the blonde.)

Let me also reiterate that this is not at all something I would normally buy.

I don't wear stuff like this.

I wear men's sweatpants and $1 Goodwill tee shirts to bed.

I have a nightgown that I lovingly call "The Little House On The Prairie".

Sexy is not my forte'.

But, I was browsing around the Costume Discounters site, and I came across all these sexy costumes, and I thought "why not?"

I mean, if I was ever thinking of surprising him for Christmas, this will do the trick!

I think it's pretty cute really, and it's not that slutty, as far as costumes go.
I've seen MUCH worse.

I actually know people that would probably wear this as an outfit.

I do love the candy cane tights too. I could rock those any day! :)
Costume Discounters has tons of Christmas Costumes,  from sexy to silly to of course, Santa.

I am really loving that Elf Costume too!

Well, I am really hoping that my hubs appreciates me stepping out of my comfort zone and stepping into something with the name "Santa's Little Helper".

Because if he doesn't, this is what I'm wearing for his birthday:
I'll let you know how it turns out.

Wish me Luck!
