Switch Up Your Homeschool Routine With Oriental Trading Company! #Homeschool #Teacher #PR #Blogger #Review #MomLife #OTC
I received a sample product in exchange for this review, however, all opinions and views are my own.
February is notorious for being a hard month for homeschoolers. It's right smack dab in the middle of the year. It's dark, it's dreary and it's depressing. The days seem very short and gray, and it's hard to keep on track. The weather, especially this year, sucks this time of year, and there are no nature walks, park trips, and even just playing outside in the yard.. February really stinks, and I've heard some great advice to NEVER make school decisions in January or February, because, once Spring arrives, you might feel differently.
We have been ready to spruce up our homeschool routine for a few weeks, and who better to help us with that than our old friends at Oriental Trading? You already know how much we love them for party decorations and other stuff, but we just discovered what a great resource Oriental Trading is for school supplies and teacher resources! Whether you are a homeschooling mom, a public school teacher, or even have a child care center, I am sure that you could find a TON of resources at Oriental Trading!
We got the chance to check out a ton of great products this time around! The boys favorite, by far, were our NINE new paints and a huge set of paintbrushes! What little boy doesn't love to make a mess with paint??? We are now painting almost every day, and they could not be happier! I love that the paint is easy to clean up too! We are definitely going to be using these paints all the time!
Another great item we picked up were these dry erase sleeves, and a new set of dry erase markers! These sleeves are really really great for writing practice! My little guy now uses these everyday for his tracing sheets, and I love the fact that I can just wipe them off and go! No more wasting paper! We also picked up some carnival tracing cards, which are perfect for little fingers and working on fine motor skills! I thought these would seem like a chore to my little guy, but he LOVES them! He seriously wants to do "sewing" every day now! I love it!
I also got this great hanging file organizer! This has been a great addition to our homeschool routine, and it has really helped me to get more organized with our paperwork! I have been able to label a folder for each day, and put all of our paperwork in there, so it's not all over my desk! These file folder organizers are great, and I use this every single day!
We have used Oriental Trading Company for SO many different things in the past, from party supplies to homeschool supplies,to holiday party stuff, etc... They have absolutely everything that you could ever want, and the prices are so affordable! We have always been fans of OTC, even back before our blogging days, and they continue to be our go-to company when we need something! To visit their awesome site and make an order for yourself, just click here! Don't forget to follow them on Facebook and Twitter as well so you can keep up with all the latest and greatest products and deals!

Getting Healthy With TruHealth MD and Step One Foods! #TruHealth #PR #Review #Blogger #HealthyEating #FoodBlogger
We received a sample product or products in exchange for this review. All opinions are 100 percent our own.
As most of you know, I have been struggling with high blood pressure and other heart issues for awhile now. I'm only 28, so it's really not fair, but what are you gonna do? Darn genes, LOL! It's my goal to try to eat as healthy as possible, exercise every day, and do any and everything in my power to minimize my risk of heart problems. When I was introduced to TruHealth MD and Step One Foods, I was instantly intrigued. These foods were specially developed by a cardiologist to maximize heart health. Every single ingredient was hand picked for it's health benefits. I have really been paying attention to what we are putting in our bodies in my house, so I love when I discover new products that don't contain "junk"!
When Dr. Elizabeth Klodas got sick of not having any great foods to recommend to her heart patients, she did what anyone would do: she created her own! Elizabeth Klodas, MD, FACC, has dedicated her career to preventive cardiology. Trained at Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins, Dr. Klodas serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Step One Foods. She is a nationally sought out speaker and has an active role at the American College of Cardiology. She says: "We created The Step One Foods Program to help patients with nutrition fundamentals. Our simple, single-serve foods can lower reliance on prescription drugs and improve outcomes."
We were lucky enough to try out all six of the TruHealth MD Step One products, and I was very impressed! The Multigrain Pancake mix was my very favorite! Now I can eat yummy pancakes with my boys and not completely break my diet! Love it! The Anytime Smoothie Mix has definitely been another house favorite, my boys have loved it as well! We now eat smoothies just about every morning for breakfast or a mid-morning snack, and they LOVE getting to help use the blender!
The Dark Chocolate Crunch Anytime Bars were another personal favorite of mine, since I am a real sucker for ANYTHING dark chocolate! Can you say delicious?? The Step One products also include a yummy High Fiber Oatmeal, Cranberry Nut Anytime Bars, and an awesome Anytime Sprinkle, which can be added to yogurt, salad, or well, anything!!
The Step One program from TruHealth MD is simple and easy to understand! You can order a 30, 60, or 90 day supply, and simply replace two meals or snacks that you normally eat with Step One foods! Simple as that! I love having yummy foods in the cabinets that I can grab and not feel guilty about! As a heart patient, I definitely feel great about TruHealth MD and the Step One food program and I know you will too! If you want to learn more, or order some of these yummy goodies for yourself, just visit the Step One Foods website! You can also follow Dr. Liz on Twitter, and LIKE their Facebook page to stay updated!!

Celebrate #Valentine's Day With Hersheys! #Candy #LOVE #Vday #Blogger #FoodBlogger #Review #Hersheys
I love, love, LOVE Valentine's Day! I am really a cheesy person by nature, so I really get big into cheesy holidays, and holidays where you get to give gifts "just because". I really love giving gifts to my babies. They are only 3 and 7, so they haven't come to "expect" a gift yet, and they are always really surprised when they get one! This year, Hershey's sent us some awesome Valentine's Day treats to try out, and we loved them all! Last week, when the boys went out to play in the (neverending) snow, I got out all of the candy treats and surprised them when they came back inside! I got some really adorable pictures of them, but now, my lovely camera that I spent my life savings on will not turn on. :( I have tried everything to get it to work, and it is just plain dead. (On the plus side, looks like I know what hubby's getting me for my birthday!) Anyhow, for this post, I will have to use other photos, and hopefully my handy dandy techy hubs can get my camera up and working soon!
I really had no idea that Hershey's had so many great Valentine's treats these days! I need to get with the times LOL! Of course, I know all about Hershey's Pot Of Gold chocolate boxes, since those are my favorites of all time, but I had no idea that they had so much good stuff on the market now!
The first product that we tried turned out to be my very favorite! I have always loved Hershey's HUGS ever since I was a little girl, but these new Raspberry flavored ones just took the cake! I mean, come on, what's not to love? White chocolate and raspberry flavor outside, and yummy Hershey's milk chocolate inside! LOVE IT! I am ashamed to say that these adorable little babies didn't make it to anyone except mom, and are hiding in a Santa Claus coffee mug up in the cabinet for THOSE days.. You guys know THOSE days, right??
The second product we tried turned out to be the favorite of all three of my boys, dad included! They are all super big suckers for Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, so when Hershey's sent us a huge package of Hershey's Valentines Peanut Butter Heart Exchange (28 packs in all!), they were definitely ready to make my guys happy! These were delicious, and definitely made my boys fall in love! I have hidden them up in the cabinet too, for a reward on extra special days!
I was also the lucky recipient of a Hershey's Solid Chocolate Heart, which was SUPER yummy! There just isn't anything that can beat classic Hershey's solid milk chocolate, in my book anyways! The boys were also thrilled to receive a big bag of Jolly Rancher Sours Gummy Hearts, just in time for Valentine's Day! We love Jolly Ranchers and sour candy, so this combo was a win for our house! They really do taste just like the old school hard Jolly Rancher candy that you remember! So yummy!
If you are looking for a great (and affordable!) treat for your Valentine this year, look no further than your friends at Hershey's! The Hershey's Valentine's Day Collection has something for everyone and especially something for us moms! Don't forget to check out the Celebrate With Hershey's website so you can find great recipes and crafts that you can create for every single holiday! Need some inspirations? Look no further!
Thanks again to our friends at Hershey's for inspiring us and giving us the chance to try out some really great products!

Homeschool Moms, Teachers, Take Note... Introducing the BEST Pencil Sharpener EVER!
As another summer comes to a close, and we are all focusing on (or trying not to focus on, depending on what day it is!) the start of the school year, everybody is making lists, and figuring out what they 'must have' for the new school year. For me, I knew one of the things on my list was a GOOD pencil sharpener. I have bought a ton of pencil sharpeners over the years, mechanical ones, electric ones, any I could find, and none of them were any good. I have spent so much money on pencil sharpeners, and I know that with our first year of homeschooling starting up, we will be sharpening more pencils than ever! SO, I had to find a good one!
Classroom Friendly Supplies has raised the bar when it comes to pencil sharpeners, and their Classroom Friendly Pencil Sharpener has teachers everywhere raving!! Not only is the Classroom Friendly Sharpener quiet, it is also incredibly durable and sturdy. It is easy to use, and it stops automatically after the perfect point has been made. No more worrying about the kiddos sharpening the pencil all the way down!
We were really excited to try out the Classroom Friendly Sharpener, and we have been giving it a bit of a test drive over the summer while we are gearing up for our school year. I have to say, I LOVE this pencil sharpener!! I am only sharpening pencils for two kids, so I can imagine how much of a lifesaver this thing would be for someone who is sharpening pencils for 20 or 30 kids! I love that the Classroom Friendly Sharpener has the convenient little pull out tray so you can easily dump out all the pencil shavings without creating a huge mess!
I love, love, LOVE this pencil sharpener, and I totally recommend it for moms and teachers alike! The pencil sharpener comes in groovy green, cool blue, firehouse red, and midnight black. The price is great at $24.99, and if anything on the sharpener breaks, you can order replacement parts instead of buying a new one, and save even more money! To order a Classroom Friendly Sharpener of your own, just visit the website!
I received a sample pencil sharpener in order to conduct my review. All opinions are 100% my own, and are never influenced by outside means.

Back To School Shopping With Crocs!

Next week we start Back To School shopping for my big boy! I can't believe he will be a kindergartener this year! He went to half day preschool last year, but this is his first "real" school year, with lunch in the cafeteria, and special classes and field trips, etc.. He is so excited!
I am excited too, but not so much about the bite that it is going to take out of my money! The supply list is two pages long, not to mention, clothes, shoes, backpack, etc! Shew! Mama was not ready for this one!
I always really stink at Back To School shopping too.. It's always like 90 degrees here when it's time to go back to school, so I am always buying shorts and sandals, tee shirts stuff like that! Never fails, within a month of school starting, it's switched to freezing outside and, of course, my kids won't have a jacket or coat, or jeans, or long sleeve shirts, or boots! LOL So, this year I am going to try to balance a little bit more and make sure that I can get Tater a few "warm weather" outfits and a few "cooler weather" outfits.. We shall see how mama does with this!
I was really excited when i got to check out the new Back To School line of Crocs recently! When I think of Crocs, I think of Summer shoes, you know, the clogs, with the holes!? Well, I was really surprised when I checked out the Back To School line! These shoes will definitely last well into the cooler weather! Check out some of my favorites that I found for Tater:
And, darn it! If I only had a sweet baby girl! The shoes in the girls Back To School line are the cutest! Wanna see?
These are only a few of the adorable shoes that Crocs has for Back To School! If you wanna see all of them, check out the adorable video at the top of the page!
Make sure to check back here at Flip Out Mama in the next week or so and see how we do on our school shopping extravaganza!

Fundex Games= Fun For The Whole Family!(GIVEAWAY with THREE WINNERS!)
When I recently got to choose some items to review from Fundex games, I am not even going to lie. It took me like two hours to choose. I kept finding such cool stuff, and I just couldn't decide.
They seriously have so many awesome games on their site. Should I choose games for the boys? Or hubs and I? Card games or board games? Games to play outside? What about games for the whole family? The possibilities were endless!
I am so excited to be working with Fundex games and I can't wait to show you guys the games that we got to review! They all became fast favorites in our house!
The first game we reveiwed was the one that has my little Tater head-over-heels in love! This is the PERFECT little boy game! It is called "What's In Ned's Head?" and it contains some really gross (FAKE) stuff, like fake vomit, bugs, dirty Q-tips, a rat, etc. This game is really simple for younger kids, which made it great for us! You put all the objects inside Ned's head. Then, each person draws a card with a "silly thing" on it. That is your silly thing that you will try to find! Then, all at the same time, you stick your hands in one of Ned's ears or nostrils (yummy!) and dig around to try to find your silly item. No looking! The first person to pull out the right item wins! If no one pulls out the right item on the first try, Ned is the winner! A really cool thing about this game is that it contains ten blank cards that you can use to add your own "silly things" from around the house. We tried to do this, and got a rock, and a candy wrapper. I had to turn down quite a few ideas for things to put in Ned's head ("Look Mom! We can use that dog poop in the yard! Oooh Here's a banana peel!"), but really, there are tons of things that you could use!
VERDICT: Love Love LOVE this game! Perfect for little boys! Tater had no idea that he was actually using his sense of touch to play this game, and his memory! It was great to see him get so excited about all the "Yucky Stuff" inside Ned's Head! This game is definitely a winner around here!
Next we got to review Uno: Family Guy! I knew this one would also be popular since Tater and his daddy are both big Family Guy fans! We have been wanting to teach Tater to play Uno for awhile, but he has never seemed interested. I knew it would be good for him, to teach not only colors and numbers, but matching and taking turns as well.
VERDICT:Well, Peter Griffin on the cards did the trick! He has asked to play this Family Guy Uno game every day since it arrived! His favorite part is the special Stewie "OBEY ME!" card, which allows you to take over the game! Now, I think he is still a little young for Uno, the ages say from 7 and up, but he definitely got the just of it, and as long as we were all (very) patient, he did just fine!
Now folks, this one was mom's favorite! This is the Chairs Stacking Game (with collectible tin). The ages on this game are 5 and up. That makes it perfect to play with the whole family! I really enjoyed this game and I also enjoyed that there are multiple ways to play! The first way to play is to decide on a number of rounds. (We played 5 rounds.) Each player starts by stacking up a chair on their turn, without letting them fall. If the stack of chairs falls on your turn, you must count one point for each chair that fell down on your turn. Then a new round starts. At the end of all the rounds, the player with the lowest number of points wins! The other way to play is to be the first player to get rid of all your chairs. I think this one was my favorite way to play! Each player gets the same number of chairs. If the stack falls on your turn, you have to TAKE each of the fallen chairs and add it to your pile. The game continues until one player runs out of chairs!
VERDICT: A classic, definitely my favorite of the three! I like that the whole family can play this game, with no one feeling left out. There is no advantage to the younger or older players, everyone has to be just as careful as everyone else!
Fundex games has so many more games, I could never tell you about all of them! There really is something for everyone! I will show you guys a few more of my favorites!
To find out which Fundex games will be your family's favorites, just click here!
A BIG thank you to Fundex Games for providing my family with some (much needed) quality time together!

Bright Starts Grab 'N Stack Blocks Review!
Bright Starts has been one of my favorite baby brands for about five years now.. Ever since Tater was born, I was drawn to their colorful, quality, adorable baby products. I have always loved them as a brand, and I was super excited when I recently got the chance to work with them!
I received the super cute Grab 'N Stack Blocks for review! I knew these would be perfect for Bean! He has recently taken to trying to stack up Tater's wooden blocks, only to be bored within minutes and decide to hurl wooden blocks at the heads of anyone near by!! So, I knew at least with the Grab 'N Stack Blocks, I would be safer!
Look at this cute little baby playin' with the Grab 'N Stack Blocks! No, this is not my Bean, he would probably be screaming if he was in this picture!
He really liked these blocks! I liked the fact that there were four of them. Enough to stack and play with, but not enough that there are blocks everywhere so you can't even walk.. (Tater and is 599 piece army man set, anyone?)
Bean really liked them because they made noise. They all have different textures and make different rattling, crinkly, noises. He was really cute trying to figure out what in the hell was making the sounds!
Each block has a different number, letter, and animal on it, so he can actually learn when he's playing with them, when he gets a little bigger, of course. I also like how affordable these blocks are! Only $10.99 on the Bright Starts Website!
You can't beat that!
Bright Starts has so many other great baby items, I just can't finish this review without showing you a few of my favorites:
Cute!!! I know right!
How about another?
Awww! Ok, ok, just one more!
Sigh. Love it. Okay, you are free to go! A big thanks to Bright Starts for providing me with this review product and giving me a chance to drool at my favorite baby stuff!

Hasbro Toys Takes Away Our Summer Blues! (Plus GIVEAWAY!)
Well, it's that time again. I know you mommies know what I'm talking about. I LOVE Summer, really I do... I love spending time with Tater before he goes back to school, especially since I will barely see him once school starts back, now that I am working nights.
But....
Oh My God, Summer is so damn long! We have long ago worn out all the fun things we had to do: sprinkler, sandbox, pool, park, playing in the yard, trampoline, walks, etc... It's all old news now. I can tell that both of my boys, even the little one, are super bored and in dire need of entertainment.
Well, the sweeties at Hasbro Toys must have read my mind, because on the crappiest, rainiest day of the Summer, a gigantic box showed up on my porch. Little did I know that inside it, would be our Summer saving grace!
Opening that box was the most fun I have seen my boys have all summer long!
The first thing they pulled out, I must say, has been there absolute favorite!
This is the Chuck & Friends Fold 'N Go Tumble Tower Play Set! It is recommended for ages 18 months and up. I really was unsure about how much the boys would like this, since Bean is only one and Tater is 5, but let me just say WOW! They haven't put this toy down in like a week! Really, one of them always has it!
This toy is made to be used with the smaller Chuck & Friends trucks, which was perfect for Bean because he got the whole set for Christmas last year! Even if you don't have the smaller trucks, don't worry because it comes with one vehicle!
The Fold 'N Go Tumble Tower Playset is really cute!
Here's the product description from the website:
"Rev up your engine for tons of tumbling fun! Set your CHUCK THE DUMP TRUCK vehicle at the top of this tower to watch him tumble down the moving ramp and come speeding out the side. Then, put him on the lift to send him up to the top to do it all over again! When you and your vehicle pal really want to put your “driving skills” to the test, send him down the ramp to do his flipping ramp stunt. When playtime’s over, park your CHUCK THE DUMP TRUCK vehicle inside the playset and fold it up, so you’re all set for on-the-go stunt fun!"
This is what the playset looks like when it is unfolded. My boys really loved making Chuck do his "flipping ramp stunt"! I love the Chuck & Friends Toys anyway, they are easy for my little guy to hold onto, and he can actually "drive" them since they are big enough for his fat little hands to hold. This set comes with the two AA batteries that it needs (THANK YOU FOR THAT HASBRO!) I would also like to say thanks to Hasbro for making this toy take AA batteries that we always have laying around, instead of like D's or C's or something that I would have to make a special trip out to get. But my absolute favorite part of this playset:
Look how tiny it folds up!! We have absolutely NO space around here, and any toy that doesn't take up tons of space is a friend of mine! I couldn't believe that it fit in the tiny space in between their bookshelf and the wall! Thanks again Hasbro!
I actually had to remind the boys that there were more things in the box from Hasbro, since they were obsessed with Chuck!
But, when my little Bean actually got the chance to play with the PLAYSKOOL Wheel Pals Animal Tracks Splash 'n Bath Playset, he was thrilled! You see, my little Bean HATES a bath. I am not sure why, but he always has... So anything to take his mind off the actual act of taking a bath, is a winner!
This little toy is so cute!
Here's it's description:
"When this WHEEL PALS hippo vehicle is ready to “wash up,” nothing will stop him! Your child can set the vehicle up at the end of this river-themed playset and then lift the launcher to start him racing. As the hippo zips up and down the hill, he takes a “bath” in the “waterfall”! The fun just keeps rolling every time your child lifts the launcher!"
I'm telling you, I have never heard my little Beanie laugh so hard as he does when he is playing with this toy! I think he just likes seeing the little car/hippo guy racing across the track. He will start giggling and won't quit! This toy has really helped our bathtime troubles. He also really likes playing with the little car/hippo guy all by itself or with the Chuck & Friends toy...(What can I say, my kids are multi-taskers lol!)
But, mommy's favorite product from Hasbro will always be Play-Doh. I just love Play-Doh. It is one toy that hasn't changed a bit since I was a kid, and playing Play-Doh with the boys makes me feel like a kid again! But, I must say, Play-Doh playsets sure have come a long way since I was a kid! Wait until you see the awesome Play-Doh sets Hasbro was kind enough to send us!
This is the Play-Doh Flip 'N Serve Breakfast Playset! I love it! Look at all the great stuff you get with this one:
We have had so much fun with this playset! Tater was thrilled that you can use it to make a smoothie, his most favorite thing in the world! My favorite parts were "making eggs" and "waffles"! I really love toys like Play-Doh SO much because it really allows my kids to be creative. I love seeing what they will come up with next, you just never know!
Here's a little more info about the Play-Doh Flip 'N Serve Breakfast Playset:
"Whip up some delicious fun with this breakfast set! Use the molds and “griddle” to create scrumptious looking “eggs”, “pancakes” and much more out of PLAY-DOH modeling compound. Then, use the waffle griddle to press out a picture-perfect “waffle”. Would you like a “banana” or a “croissant” to go with your “French toast” or “hash browns”? But of course! A knife, spatula and fork even let you “serve up” your creations. When you’re done “cooking”, just put everything back inside the container to keep it all safe and sound for your next imaginative “breakfast” or “brunch”!"
We were also lucky enough to receive another Play-Doh Playset! We got the Sesame Street Cookie Monster's Letter Lunch Playset and it is adorable!
Here's what it's all about:
Learning is fun with PLAY-DOH compound and Sesame Street. This playset helps children learn their ABCs. They can shape letters to spell out their names and other words! Kids can even make a pretend alphabet soup and “feed” it to Cookie Monster for “lunch!” Includes 4 cans of PLAY-DOH compound.
Set includes Cookie Monster character playset with bowl, lid, knife, spoon, fork, roller, more than 45 molds, presser tool, playmat and 4 two-ounce cans of PLAY-DOH modeling compound.
All I can say about this one is, it was PERFECT! It says it is for ages 3 and up, and my Tater just turned 5, so I was afraid this might be a bit babyish for him... But, it is perfect! He is just now learning to spell words and work on reading, and he spent a good hour and a half making letters and spelling words! I am always loving any toy that helps my kids to learn while they are having fun! And if they don't even realize they are learning, that's even better! This was absolutely the perfect toy for my big guy!
I would like to say a big thank you to the folks at Hasbro Toys! You guys knew just what we needed to end our "end of Summer" blues! My boys now have a bunch of new toys in their arsenal, and *hopefully* we will stay entertained until it's time for school!
