Kids and Their Weird Favorite Things.

So me and my (newly mommied) best friend Crystal, were talking the other day about kid's personalities and the things they like.

She was wondering what kinds of things Sadie would like, what she would be into.

I think it is so weird how even with no influence from outside sources, kids are just born with certain prefrences for certain things.

Tater is like THE weirdest kid on Earth. Really.

The things he likes have always absolutely bewildered me.

He LOVES cats. Always has. The hubs and I are dog people. Big dogs only. We have a 90 lb Pit Bull, and I will never have a dog that is under at least 50 lbs.
Tater has been obsessed with cats since he was a tiny baby. He found a kitten outside when he was about 18 months old, and we kind of adopted it. He named it "Meow". (Creative, right?) It had seven kittens in my underwear drawer. It was his favorite pet ever. And both of us hate cats.

Music. His taste in music is so completely off the wall. He loves gangster rap. Ever since he was little, when a rap song would come on, he would sit in his carseat, and bob his little head. Lil Wayne is probably his favorite. He also loves Michael Jackson and Prince. (Those are two of my favorites, but I was really surprised that he likes them too!)

Movies. This is probably where he has shocked me the most. I have always wanted him to see and love the same movies I did when I was a kid. Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, etc. NO. SUCH. LUCK. He absolutely hates them all. The only "cartoony" movie I have ever been able to get him to watch is Toy Story 3, which he loves. His favorite character? Not Buzz, Not Woody, Not even Mr. Potato Head. His favorite? Jessie the cowgirl.

Anyways, on to movies. Without further ado, a list of Tater's favorites: (these are all movies he has been obsessed with, and watched over and over, at least I would say, 50 times!)
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the old one, not the Johnny Depp one, although he does have a soft spot for Johnny Depp!)

Annie. Yup. The Musical, the old one.

The Wizard Of Oz. Again, from like what? 1920?

Alice In Wonderland. This is probably the only "recent" movie he has ever really loved. Something about that Johnny Depp.

Edward Scissorhands. He watched this one so much it actually stopped playing.

Isn't that like the weirdest thing ever?

I absolutely LOVE it, and couldn't ask for a more awesome kid.

Who else has a 4 year old that will sit through movies that were made 30 years ago with them?

I just think it is so odd!

I can't wait to see what kinds of things The Bean will like.

So far, it looks like just food. Any and all food.

It just kind of blows my mind!

So, my question is, do your kids like any certain things that you don't like, or any things that you find weird?
