Shaving with a straight razor. It is the epitome of manliness. Today, we are going to tell you the basics of how to shave with a straight razor. First of all, get your supplies together. You are going to need: your razor, a couple of good badger shaving brushes, a hot towel. There might be a few more supplies you'll need in a minute, but we'll get to that soon.
First of all, you'll have to prep your beard. You can do that by taking a hot shower, or by pressing your hot towel against your face. Fill a mug or small bowl with super duper hot water, and let your brush soak for a few minutes. Next, squeeze out the excess water from your brush. You can throw away the water that is left in the bowl or mug now, if you wish. Now you can use the bowl and your shaving cream or soap to make a lather.
Next, you are going to wet your face again, and then apply the shaving cream or shaving foam directly to your face. Then you can use your brush to "paint" your face and let it soak for a few minutes, usually around five minutes or so. Next, stretch your skin tight before you use the razor, and now, it's time to cut! Hold the blade at around a 20 degree angle for the best cutting. You need to be extra careful not to press down too hard, it is so easy to get cut with a straight razor!
Important to remember! When you shave with a straight razor, make three passes. The first pass is with the grain. The second pass is sideways to the grain. The third and final pass that you make with the straight razor should be against the grain. If your beard is super thick, you might even have to change blades in between the steps.
After you are done you need to rinse your face, and then you have to clean, dry and strop the blade. You also have to clean and dry your brush. Shaving with a straight razor can give you a better shave than you have ever experienced, so try it if you haven't before!

Tips For Plumbing Disasters!
Okay guys, you all know how much I love plumbers and how I think they can save the day when you need them! But, did you know that sometimes you can deal with your plumbing issues yourself? Sometimes, if you just need to fix a clogged drain, or do something simple like that, you can do it yourself. Even if you can't completely fix the problem, you might be able to hold yourself over until your plumber gets there to save the day! Here are a few DIY plumbing tips for you!
1. KNOW where your home's main mater shut off valve is, and know how to use it! If you have a plumbing catastrophe and water is shooting all over your house, you are gonna have to get it stopped, and fast! Finding your main shut off valve can help with that! Also, make sure you can shut it off yourself! I had the horrible realization, when one of our pipes burst in the middle of Winter, that even though I knew where our shut off valve was, I am not strong enough to turn it off myself! Had to call my hubby to come home from work- ouch!
2. If your toilet is stopped up and overflowing, you can keep it from going over and making a huge mess pretty easily! If your toilet is reaching overflow status, hurry as fast as you can and turn on some water in your sink or bathtub. This can sometimes slow the water flow down enough to keep it from going over!
3. Don't forget to shut off that little valve behind the toilet. Shutting off that little valve behind the toilet by turning it clockwise. This can give you a chance to work on your clog without getting soaked by a flood in the process!
4. Even if your sink or faucet is just providing a tiny slow leak, or drip, do not hesitate to get it fixed right away! You can really run up your water bill by not fixing these things right away! Even if the leak doesn't seem too bad, fix it fast!

CoffeeHouseExpress.com Review and SunCana Brewer GIVEAWAY!
I think when you become a mom, you just automatically develop a love for coffee. Well, that is what happened to me anyway. I never was really a coffee freak until I had kids. I liked iced coffee, things like that, but I didn't really drink it very much and when I did, I didn't drink a whole lot. Cue having kids. Now, I can't get enough coffee. The thing is, I am the only one in my house that ever drinks coffee. And once I have a cup, maybe two max, I'm bored with it and I don't want anymore. So, it's never really been sensible for me to make a whole pot of coffee, just to throw 80% of it away.
Well, all of that changed for me recently when I had the chance to work with an awesome company. CoffeeHouseExpress.com knows their stuff when it comes to coffee! They have over 60 (SIXTY!) years of experience in the coffee biz, and they know what people like! Their website has TONS of different types of gourmet coffees, awesome brewers, and tons of other great stuff! So, when the super nice folks at CoffeeHouseExpress.com offered me the chance to review one of their brewers, what do you guys think I said!?
I wasn't sure what brewer I was going to be getting for our review, so imagine my shock (and excitement!) when this baby showed up on my door:
THIS, my dear friends is the SunCana Coffee Pod Brewer, and it is, in one word AWESOME! This thing is SO easy to use, I had it set up and ready to go within about five minutes. (You do have to prime it the first time, but that was super easy as well!) All you do is fill up the reservoir with water, and press the power button. That will let the water start heating up, and getting ready to make your wonderful cup of coffee! Now, this is a single cup brewer, so all you do is lift the little lever on the right hand side to unlock the little door. Pull it out, and insert your coffee pod of choice. Press the lever back down to lock, and there you have it! Once the indicator light switches from red to green, you're good to go! All you do is press brew, and your coffee will be ready in less than ONE minute! Can't beat that! Another great feature? You can change the volume settings depending on the size of the cup you are using, so it will make just the right amount of coffee! Love that!
Have you guys ever used coffee pods before? They are really cool, I love them! First of all, the perfect amount of coffee is sealed inside the pod, so there is no measuring. Number two, there is no mess. I have a tendency of dropping coffee grounds everywhere, so these nifty little pods take care of that! Plus, they're biodegradable, and better for the environment. I got to try three different kinds: the light roast, the hazelnut and the french vanilla pods. They were all super delicious, but I love the hazelnut the best! It smells soo wonderful as soon as you start brewing, the whole house smells great! I have been looking for some other options for coffee pod flavors that I can order to try out, and I have found a TON! They are super affordable too, an 18 pack is only around $6 from CoffeeHouseExpress. Next time, I am going to try out Apple Strudel, Butter Pecan, Chocolate Raspberry, and Chocolate Mint. Can you guys tell I am crazy about flavored coffee?
Anywho, pretty much everything about this SunCana Coffee Pod Brewer is top notch! I have been using mine for close to two weeks now, and there is nothing that I don't like about it! It looks great sitting on the counter, sleek and modern, but not too bulky. It's easy to use, and makes a GREAT cup of coffee! You can get the SunCana Coffee Pod Brewer from CoffeeHouseExpress.com for $129.00. Of, if you're feeling lucky, you could WIN ONE from me!
First things first: Make sure that you like CoffeeHouseExpress.com on Facebook so that you can stay up to date on all their latest promotions!
Second of all, head on over to their website, browse around, and tell me what kind of coffee you would pick to use in your new brewer! Leave your choice in the comments below, and make sure to leave your email address for me to contact you if you win! This is a super giveaway guys, so make sure to share it with your friends!
Giveaway will end on 3/31/13. Winner will be chosen via random.org and will have 48 hours to claim their prize. Shipping and fulfillment of prizes is the responsibility of the sponsor. I received complimentary product to facilitate this review, however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

What Do You Know About Business Insurance?
What do you know about Business Insurance Services? If you're like me, than probably not much.. I really had no idea about Business Insurance Services before someone told me about them. I probably never would have considered them, and that is sad! However, business insurance is really important when you are a business owner.
God forbid, your company gets sued by someone. You will need help, you will need backup. You will need protection. And small business insurance can help you with that. You first and foremost need property damage and bodily injury liability insurance. That is the most important. This will cover you in case something happens, like a customer slipping and falling in your store, or one of your employee's accidentally damaging a customer's property. You hope it doesn't happen, but you have to be realistic. It might.
Personal injury coverage is a little bit different than bodily injury. Bodily injury deals with actual physical harm, while personal injury deals with words, like slander and libel. You might also want to consider medical payment coverage, which will pay your customer's medical bills if they are injured through a fault of your company's. There is also something called business interruption coverage which can cover your business if something happens and you are not able to operate normally. As you can see there are a ton of different policies, and a ton of different types of policies. You have to be careful that you know what you are getting and that you are getting the right coverage for your needs!
Whatever small business insurance coverage you choose, you have to make sure that you do get some insurance. Your business is important to you and it is important to protect it! The main point is to do your research and make sure that you know what you are getting with your policy. You have to be proactive and ask the hard questions. If you don't know what your policy includes, make sure to ask. Compare companies, ask the tough questions, don't settle until you are happy with the policy that you have chosen!

Going Back To School
Most of you know that I have been trying to go back to school for awhile now. I don't really like the fact that I dropped out of college after only one semester. Then, a husband, and two babies later, it is much harder to go back than I ever anticipated. I mean, I only want to do something close to home, it's not like I want to go to colorado business school or anything.
There are a ton of reasons why I want to go back to school. First of all, I want to be able to have a job that makes more money. I want to be able to have a job that my kids are proud of me for. I want them to see that I succeeded in life and that I didn't give up. I don't want them to think that quitting is okay. I would love to continue learning, I have always been a "school" type of girl, and I love learning new things. I really just want to do something my kids can be proud of.
Going back to school when you are a grown up is not a piece of cake. It is hard, way harder than you would think. First of all you have to make the sacrifice to do whatever it takes to go back to school. If you are already working, it can mean cutting back your hours, which can even mean less money. You have to find childcare, especially if you are like me and are already a stay at home mom. That means I will have to pay for daycare, or my hubby will have to take time off of work. You also have to make the commitment to study, work hard, and meet your goals. It's not as easy as it looks!
I am still working towards my goal of going back to school. It IS a lot of work, and I am still getting my ducks in a row, but I am working on it. I know that once I do go back to school, I will be proud of myself and my boys will be proud of me. And, that is enough to make me do any work that it takes!

Well, most of you know that I have never been great at remembering things or always doing the stuff I am supposed to do. I am however, great at getting myself into trouble, and great at getting myself into "pickles". I have locked myself out of my car several times in the past. However, I have always been lucky enough that I didn't have to call a Cambridge Locksmith, since there has always been one nearby. If you are like me and you have a problem with getting into trouble, read on for some tips of what to do to prevent you get locked out of your car!
Tip #1: Don't Panic.
Have a spare made. I know, sounds simple enough right. You can buy one of those metal magnetic "key holders" and hide the extra key in plain sight under your vehicle. Or, you can always leave your spare with a spouse, family member or friend that could bring it to you in an emergency.
Tip #2: Get Roadside Assistance
If you, like me, are prone to accidentally locking yourself out, it might be advantageous for you to sign up for a roadside assistance program like AAA. Even if you don't lock yourself out, you can get other benefits too, like towing protection, help changing a flat, a new battery if yours dies, even gas if you run out on the side of the road!
Tip #3: Get OnStar.
OnStar isn't available on all makes and models of cars, but if you can get it on yours, it is a great investment. OnStar can send a remote signal to unlock your vehicle, wherever you are! It is a great investment for the amount of protection and services you get for the price! It is even standard on some new vehicles for the first year!
Tip #4: Ask A Cop
Cops and even firefighters can usually help you get into your car if you lock yourself out. Of course, if they have more important work to do, it might take them awhile to get to you for help, but most of the time, they will help you out, and for free!

Breaking Bad News of The Week 3/17
Oh sweet jesus.
I don't even know what to say.
Last night was the Breaking Bad wrap party.
How fucking sad is that.
Rumor has it that there are still two full weeks of shooting left, but we're on the tail end, y'all, and it's almost over.
Apparently, from what I hear from our favorite breakfast advocate, everyone is wrapping on different days this season, so...
Here's his tweet:
What does this mean? Ahhh, I'm stressed...
On one hand, I am so exceptionally excited to see the last eight episodes, and I am anxiously awaiting to see the series finale, I know that Vince will do a spectacular job.
Breaking Bad is his baby, and if we have to see it go, there's nobody better to tell the end of the story than Vince.
But, can it really be over? Aaron Paul is pretty down in the dumps too...
(By the way, have we not already established that Aaron Paul is just about the classiest guy out there? Always so sweet and humble. Love him.)
In other Breaking Bad news, TMZ reports that Jesse Pinkman's car is up for sale at a ABQ used car dealership. Read the whole story here.
And, in STILL more Breaking Bad news, New Mexico has declared March 16 to officially become "Breaking Bad Day". While I love any day that starts and/or ends with Breaking Bad, Dean Norris (Hank) had this to say on his Twitter:
(Seriously, if you don't follow Dean Norris on Twitter, you should. This man is something else!)
Well, that is all for this week in Breaking Bad news.. I can't wait to see some more pics from the wrap party, even though they make me sad..
So far, all I have seen are leaked photos on Reddit and a few candids from RJ Mitte's Twitter feed, but I am looking forward to seeing some more..
Can't believe it guys, it's almost time for the end!
I don't even know what to say.

So far, all I have seen are leaked photos on Reddit and a few candids from RJ Mitte's Twitter feed, but I am looking forward to seeing some more..
Can't believe it guys, it's almost time for the end!

Corporate Wellness Programs Like HeartMath Are Changing Business Forever!
Something that I really like to see is companies that are taking an active interest in their employees and their employees health and well being. I recently heard about a really interesting company called HeartMath. HeartMath is a company that has made it their goal to provide support for people's well being, health, and performance, both at home and on the job. Companies like HeartMath teach people how to transform stress, control their emotions, and better balance their brain and heart communication. I think this is a really cool idea, and I would love to work for a company that provided some program like this.
I love when companies do things like this, and get involved in their employees health, well being, and real lives outside of work. I think it forms a good relationship, and it shows that the company really does care about the employee. I don't know of a lot of companies in our local area that do things like this, and I think that more companies should consider something like this. There are not many jobs or employers that truly care about employees. I think that if employees really do want to improve morale and keep employees around for a long time, they should take some of these things into consideration. As a person with health issues that could have very well been prevented by a corporate wellness program, I am a big fan of these programs, and a big advocate of their use. I wish that I worked for a company that implemented these programs, I would probably be much more motivated to take care of my health issues.
Do you know any companies that offer corporate wellness programs or something else similar? I know that I would really like if a company that I worked for did things like this, I would really enjoy it. I like being a part of a "group" anytime I do anything that is fitness or health related anyway, so this would be perfect for me! I would love to hear what you guys think. If your job offered a corporate wellness or fitness promotion, would you join? Let me know in the comments below, you know I always love to hear what you guys have to say!

I'm Going To Carr's Honda!
I am a one car kinda gal. I find a car, I like it, I keep it. Simple as that. So, my friends, that is the reason I am going to Carr's Honda. I am a Honda gal, through and through. My first car was a Honda. My second car was a Honda. My third and fourth cars? Not Hondas. Both broke down within a month of me buying them. My car now? Honda. Hubby's car? You guessed it, Honda all the way!
I know now that I just prefer Hondas, and that is the only car I will buy from here on out. No more trying to change, that is just the way it is! :) I know that everyone has a preference, a certain car that is their very favorite, and this one just happens to be mine! I am not currently in the market for a new car, but I have been looking at a few brand new (and nearly new!) Hondas lately and they are surely some beautiful cars! I really can't wait to get a brand new shiny fancy one, but for now the one I have will do.
I think it is just a part of my nature. When I finally find something that I really like, that really meets my needs, I tend to stick with it. The same is true for bras and jeans. When I find a style that I like and works well, I will buy six or seven just to have them all on hand. I burn myself out on my favorite foods all the time too, since I do the same thing. I buy a bunch of one thing and then I end up getting tired of it before it's all gone. But so far, that hasn't happened with Hondas, I still love them as much as always.
What about you guys? Do you have a preference when it comes to cars? Is there a certain brand, a certain make, or a certain model that you just refuse to compromise on? I would be super curious to hear what you guys have to say! Leave me some feedback in the comments, I would like to know especially if there are any other Honda lovers like me out here!

Thumbs Up To My Local RotoRooter!
I swear, I think every day should be love a plumber day! I am so grateful to have my local Rotorooter, and to have them on my side. There have been so many different times that things have gone wrong with our plumbing, and they are always there to help us out, pick up the pieces and then off they go on their merry little ways. Plumbers really do have some of the hardest jobs out there and they don't complain about them. (Well, barely.) They do stuff that none of us would like to do, and they do it with a smile on their faces.
Seriously, think for a minute. When was the last time that you saw a mean plumber? They just don't exist. Plumbers are sweet and nice and kind. They are used to helping people, and they are hard workers. I can't help it, I just have a soft spot for plumbers.
A lot of people don't realize what a hard job a plumber has. A fully licensed plumber has to go through years and years of training, and endure a lot of hard work to get to the top. That being said, a fully licensed plumber is also one of the best jobs out there, and it pays very well. But to get to the top, you have to start at the bottom. Plumbers have to really do a lot of work to get to where they are comfortable. Sometimes they have to spend years upon years as an apprentice, doing lots of work for little money, until they get the knowledge they need.
After a plumber finishes his three years of apprentice work, he has to go through a really hard master plumber's exam. To even be eligible to sit for this exam, a plumber has to have gone through at least 300 hours or more of work. That is a lot of hours! After this, if a plumber passes his test, he can become a licensed plumber. That is a lot of work, huh? I Know! I was surprised to find out all that a plumber has to go through! Crazy!
Did you know about how much work it takes to become a plumber, or were you as surprised as I was?

Why Is It So Hard To Find Cute Modest Clothing?
Come on now people. Answer me this question. Why is it so hard to find cute modest clothing? I mean really. I am no prude, but really, what is the deal? I am a bigger girl, well I am now, but I didn't used to be. It is hard now for me to find clothes that are not ahem, revealing, but even when I was a lot smaller, I hated wearing tiny revealing clothes. Even though I had the body for it, it is just not my thing.
Now, Summer is coming up.. and you know what that means. Time for the dreaded. Shopping. Of. The. Swimsuit. AHHH! I hate hate HATE swimsuit shopping, but that is nothing new. I hated swimsuit shopping when I was smaller too. I hate it now, and I always will. There is just nothing out there for a girl like me. You either have to dress like a Victoria's Secret model, or a 90 year old grandma. There is no in between. Grrr.. And summery clothes? That is a whole other story. Tank tops and short shorts and sandals.. Those are all find and dandy, but does everything I have HAVE to hang out of there? Shew! Not cool!
What do you guys wear? I know a lot of you out there have the same concerns as me when it comes to clothes, and clothes that are acceptable. LOL. I would love to know what you guys think, and if you have a favorite clothing line or brand that makes clothes that all of us can wear! Lets see... Skirts? I like a skirt that is just above the knee.. Not all the way to the ground or anything, but no mini skirts either.. I think a skirt is a great classy look, and I will always own several. Shorts? I like bermuda shorts, or other shorts that hit just above the knees. I am also a fan of pedal pusher pants, or capris. As for tank tops and tee shirts, I like sleeveless tees and tanks, but I am not a big fan of spaghetti straps. I also always make sure to wear a sweater or cardigan over a tank top or sleeveless shirt, so I feel a bit more comfortable.
What are some of your all time favorites for Summer wear? Leave me some ideas below in the comments, I love to hear what you guys have to say!

Ripley's 3D Moving Theater: A Crazy Good Time!
Okay, first of all, look at this building? Tell me what little boy isn't going to just LOVE any kind of attraction that is held in here!! My Tater and his daddy got to check out the Ripley's 3D Moving Theater, while I stayed behind with the teeny beanie. I wasn't sure how Tater was going to handle the moving theater stuff, since he had been complaining of his tummy hurting earlier in the day when we were checking out the aquarium.. (Now, I know that the tummy hurting was the beginning of the horrendous stomach flu that would rear its ugly head all over the beautiful hotel and surrounding town!)
However, at this time, all was well in stomach flu land, and my two big guys had a great time! This was a perfect activity for them to do together, since they are both big video game/ movie fans. It didn't take long, about 15-20 minutes, but they had a great time in there! Tater said there was even water that sprayed him! How fun! I am jealous that I didn't get to go now! :)
Needless to say, this was quick, clean family fun for my boy and his dad to do together. They need time to bond and have special memories together, so I was happy for them to have this chance! Just like the other Ripley's attractions, my big guy has already added this to the top of his "must do next time" list for our September trip!

It's Coming! LEGO KidsFest Hits Lousiville In ONE Month!
Okay, if you know me, you know that I am a big kid at heart, and anytime we get a chance to cover a kid's event, I am thrilled, usually even more than the boys are! Well, here we go! In less than one month, we are headed to LEGO Kids Fest at the KY Exposition Center in Louisville! I can not WAIT, and I know that the boys are going to be thrilled too! You see, my sweet Tater has taken a huge interest in LEGO, since right around Christmas time, and he is know what I would classify as obsessed! And, since Tater will be turning seven in April, we are considering LEGO KidsFest a part of his birthday bash!
The LEGO® KidsFest is a giant traveling LEGO® expo coming to Louiville’s Kentucky Exposition Center April 5 – 7, 2013. This hands-on, educational, all-ages LEGO® extravaganza features millions of LEGO® bricks not to mention lots of construction zones, dozens of life-sized LEGO® models and displays, LEGO® Ninjago and LEGO® Games, group builds such as Creation Nation, live LEGO® Master Builders, and so much more covering three acres of space.
Five identical sessions are available. Tickets are $18 for kids and $20 for adults.
- LEGO Model Gallery: dozens of life-sized models made entirely from LEGO bricks
- LEGO Master Builders: live demonstrations and activities from the crew who get paid to play
- Creation Nation: build your own creation to add to a custom map of the U.S.
- Race Ramps: build your own custom car, then race it down the ramp against friends and family
- LEGO Games Arena: roll the dice to play LEGO board games
- Construction Zones: creative free build, play and display areas
- LEGO DUPLO®: younger visitors can explore imagination through building
- LEGO Retail and KidsFest Marketplace:purchase LEGO merchandise and official KidsFest tour goods
- Brick Pile: a gigantic pile full of LEGO bricks for creative play and enjoyment
- Monochromatic Builds: bricks of a single color to foster group creativity
- Brickscapes: fantastic displays that combine lots of LEGO and DUPLO sets
- And much more, covering over 150,000 square feet of space
I was excited about LEGO KidsFest before, but seriously, after seeing some of the photos, I am really pumped! This is going to be so much fun! I love doing special things like this with the boys, especially if it is something that they are genuinely interested in. It means a lot to a kid when a parent takes their likes and tastes into consideration, and it is a great way to make them feel special, since it is something especially for them!
If you are considering checking out LEGO KidsFest in Louisville, here's a few things to know! First of all, LEGO KidsFest is being held at the KY Expo Center, which is right near the airport. This is good for people who have no sense of direction, like me, because even I can find the Expo center! (It once took me four hours to get from Lexington to Cincinnati but that is a story for another day...) Second, if you are thinking of getting tickets, you should do so ASAP, because these sessions usually sell out fast!
SO.... Is there anybody out there who would like to WIN a pair of tickets to LEGO KidsFest? Yeah, I thought so! Here's the deal, folks! We are lucky enough to be giving away a pair of tickets to the LEGO KidFest Friday Session on April 5, 2013!! The session begins at 4pm, and is at the KY Expo Center in Louisville! If you win, your tickets will be waiting for you at Will Call and all you have to do is pick them up when you get there! So.. you wanna enter? Here's how!!
FIRST of all, go ahead and FOLLOW or LIKE LEGO KidsFest on Twitter and Facebook, and Pinterest as well, of course! This way you can stay in the loop for all things LEGO related and not miss any important updates as the show gets closer!
NEXT, simply leave a comment on this post, telling me WHO you would party it up at LEGO KidsFest with if you are the lucky winner! Make sure to leave your email address in the comment as well if it is not visible on your profile.. This is how I will contact you if you are the lucky winner!
