Do you use a water filtration system?

Do any of you guys use a water filtration system? I have been thinking about looking into something for our house. Our water tastes really REALLY horrible, and I hate drinking it. I even hate cooking with it. I am getting tired of shelling out so much money for bottled water too, it is making me go broke! I figure that there has to be a better way. I am sure that some of you must live in an area with less than stellar public water too, so I was hoping I could get some advice. I know all of you lovelies are knowledgeable in just about every subject matter, so I bet you could help me out!

I'm really not sure where to start. I have heard that we can get a whole house water purification system and purify all of the taps in our entire house. This would be great for us, since even if I get a water filter that attaches to the tap, all of the water coming out of every other tap in the house is still going to be the same. It would be really convenient to get it done to every tap in the house. I have heard that there are huge benefits to having your whole house on the same water filter, besides just making the water taste better. I think that this would be good for us, because I know our water contains a huge amount of chlorine. Does anyone have any advice about this for me?

I know that it might be a little bit expensive to get a water filtration system installed in the whole house, but in the long run, I think it would be a good idea. I wouldn't have to worry about constantly changing the filter on the kitchen sink, and I think it would give me peace of mind to know that all of the water coming through the whole house was the same. I have been reading up on the subject, and according to Ben Franklin Bay Area Plumbing in Concord, California, this really is something that is feasible to do, and while it may be a huge deal for us, it really isn't for a seasoned plumber. They handle these types of things every day, so I really should probably just bite the bullet and let a professional handle it.

What do you guys think? Do you have any advice for me? If you do, leave it below in the comments!
