It's Coming! LEGO KidsFest Hits Lousiville In ONE Month!

Okay, if you know me, you know that I am a big kid at heart, and anytime we get a chance to cover a kid's event, I am thrilled, usually even more than the boys are! Well, here we go! In less than one month, we are headed to LEGO Kids Fest at the KY Exposition Center in Louisville! I can not WAIT, and I know that the boys are going to be thrilled too! You see, my sweet Tater has taken a huge interest in LEGO, since right around Christmas time, and he is know what I would classify as obsessed! And, since Tater will be turning seven in April, we are considering LEGO KidsFest a part of his birthday bash!

The LEGO® KidsFest is a giant traveling LEGO® expo coming to Louiville’s Kentucky Exposition Center April 5 – 7, 2013.  This hands-on, educational, all-ages LEGO® extravaganza features millions of LEGO® bricks not to mention lots of construction zones, dozens of life-sized LEGO® models and displays, LEGO® Ninjago and LEGO® Games, group builds such as Creation Nation, live LEGO® Master Builders, and so much more covering three acres of space.
Five identical sessions are available.  Tickets are $18 for kids and $20 for adults.

We can not wait to go to this! We are actually thinking about taking a couple of days (this IS during Spring Break folks, at least for us, so consider that too!) and heading to Louisville to hit up the Zoo, the Science Center and of course, LEGO KidsFest! Not sure if you wanna go? Check out this list of just SOME of the stuff you will find at LEGO KidsFest:

  • LEGO Model Gallery: dozens of life-sized models made entirely from LEGO bricks
  • LEGO Master Builders: live demonstrations and activities from the crew who get paid to play
  • Creation Nation: build your own creation to add to a custom map of the U.S.
  • Race Ramps: build your own custom car, then race it down the ramp against friends and family
  • LEGO Games Arena: roll the dice to play LEGO board games
  • Construction Zones: creative free build, play and display areas
  • LEGO DUPLO®: younger visitors can explore imagination through building
  • LEGO Retail and KidsFest Marketplace:purchase LEGO merchandise and official KidsFest tour goods
  • Brick Pile: a gigantic pile full of LEGO bricks for creative play and enjoyment
  • Monochromatic Builds: bricks of a single color to foster group creativity
  • Brickscapes: fantastic displays that combine lots of LEGO and DUPLO sets
  • And much more, covering over 150,000 square feet of space

I was excited about LEGO KidsFest before, but seriously, after seeing some of the photos, I am  really pumped! This is going to be so much fun! I love doing special things like this with the boys, especially if it is something that they are genuinely interested in. It means a lot to a kid when a parent takes their likes and tastes into consideration, and it is a great way to make them feel special, since it is something especially for them!

If you are considering checking out LEGO KidsFest in Louisville, here's a few things to know! First of all, LEGO KidsFest is being held at the KY Expo Center, which is right near the airport. This is good for people who have no sense of direction, like me, because even I can find the Expo center! (It once took me four hours to get from Lexington to Cincinnati  but that is a story for another day...) Second, if you are thinking of getting tickets, you should do so ASAP, because these sessions usually sell out fast!

SO.... Is there anybody out there who would like to WIN a pair of tickets to LEGO KidsFest? Yeah, I thought so! Here's the deal, folks! We are lucky enough to be giving away a pair of tickets to the LEGO KidFest Friday Session on April 5, 2013!! The session begins at 4pm, and is at the KY Expo Center in Louisville!
