Mommy Q&A: Dealing With Embarrassing Moments At School.

As many of you know from reading today's posts, I was thrown for a loop today when I got the dreaded call from the school. My sweet little Tater had thrown up all over the cafeteria. On Cowboy Day. The day he has looked forward to all year.

The worst part of it all was how embarrassed he was. He kept saying "Mommy it was really bad, everyone seen me..." And when I asked him if he felt like going to school tommorow, he said, "I'm not going if I think I might vomick (vomit). What if I vomick all over the fields?" (Tomorrow is Field Day.) Poor little guy. He is so embarrassed.

I distinctly remember my most embarassing school moment. It was in the fifth grade, and I still can't even talk about it. Not even on this blog, nameless and faceless. Periods should not be given to fifth grade girls, simple as that.

Anyways, enough of that terrible haunting shit, and on to the question:

Q: What is the best way to deal with embarrassing issues that happen to your child at school? Do you have any tips for me to help make my little guy feel better about his cafeteria mishap? Please leave any and all advice in the comments section! I can't wait to hear what you smart mommies have to say!

  1. Oh, Dawn, poor little Tater!! Was he so excited about Cowboy Day that he threw up or did he have some kind of "bug"?
I think that everyone has had some kind of crappy thing happen to them which causes embarrassment, so I really feel for him.
Everyone vomits and we don't get to choose where it happens. I remember George H.W. Bush threw up on the Prime Minister of Japan at a dinner!!
