I once got sun posioning from laying in a tanning bed for 10 minutes. And this was a week before my junior prom. But, that's a whole other story. :)
Anyways, my skin is super sensitive, and I am beginning to think that Tater's is going to be too. I was hoping he would get his pigmentation from his daddy, but negative on that one.
So, we buy a lot of sunscreen around here. We are constantly reapplying, probably like every 30 minutes or so. 'Cause we hate burns lol!
So, I was incredibly anxious to try Soleo Organics all natural Sunscreen. Soleo scored #1 safest sunscreen on the Enviromental Working Groups website (www.ewg.org if you're interested).
The first thing I noticed was that it was almost completely scent-free. I thought I would miss that "beachy sunscreen" smell, but I actually liked the neutral scent.
It's a very creamy lotion-type sunscreen, and It really mosturized my skin. I actually read that many women wear Soleo Sunscreen under their makeup as their moisturizer. I am looking forward to trying that soon, because I do not wear a daily sunscreen like we are supposed to. :(
Another thing that I really liked about Soleo was that it protects for up to 3 hours, regardless of whether you are in or out of the water. We didn't go that long without reapplying, just because I am paranoid, but we went about 2 hours, and no burns in sight! Tater could also jump in the pool a million times and not cry about the sunscreen burning his eyes as usual. That was a big plus for the boy and the mommy :)
Soleo is safe for adults and children of all ages, including infants. I was a bit hesitant to try it on the Bean, since he is still so new, but I am looking forward to using it in a few months when he's just a little bigger.
I am very impressed with Soleo sunscreen, and I am pretty sure it will be our go-to brand from now on. I love being able to use products on my babies that I know are natural and safe.

*the teeny tiny finey print: Soleo sunscreen did not pay me for this review. They sent me a bottle of sunscreen to try and that is all. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
Right now, my family is out of sun screen. :)

I like the fact that it is all natural...but in the spirit of full disclosure we are out of sunscreen and I live in Florida! It'll be hot until the end of October probably. Thanks for the opp!
ReplyDeleteMy current supposedly natural sunblock has yucky preservatives in it, and it's an improvement over the last one, which had suspected carcinogens. Would love to have a totally safe option!

Oh gosh, I was just reading an article about hazardous chemical sin sunscreen and checked my bottles. Yup, each one contains yuckiness. Grr. So I pretty much am taking other measures to keep my family out of the sun. And a little Vitamin D is good for you in small quantities anyway, right? I am really trying to spread the word that using natural and organic products doesn't make you a crazy hippie too! LOL. I love hippies and was raised by two semi-hippies anyway so nothing, but luv there! Big high five to the EWG. They are amazing people over there.
