here is both of them watching it. Tater has his Rock N' Learn bookmark/ruler :)
Today when we got to the mailbox, there was a package inside. Tater knew exactly what it was. He's been expecting it since last week.
"Is that my Rock Band DVD?" he asked.
He's talking about his new Rock N' Learn phonics DVD's that we were sent to review. He was sooo excited, we had to open it up as soon as we got back inside. I put it in to let the learning begin.
And the boys were entranced. Yes, I said boys. The 4 year old, and the 2 month old. I figured, what the hell, maybe he'll be like those "your baby can read" kids.ignore my messy house. Both of my kiddies, enjoying it!
But Tater was totally into it! He watched Volume 1 from start to finish, and almost half of Volume 2 before deciding he had had enough of learning. That's like a record for him! Very impressive, Rock N' Learn folks!
About Rock N' Learn: Rock N' Learn is the brain child of two brothers, one a school psychologist, the other a rock musician. The psychologist, Richard Caudle, said he often heard parents complaining about how their children could learn a song off the radio after hearing it just a few times, but struggled to learn multiplication tables. He tried to find a recorded program to help the students, and hold their attention, but nothing of quality existed. He teamed with his brother, Brad, and Rock N' Learn was born.
Rock N' Learn covers just about every topic you can imagine. There's Alphabet Circus, Dance with the Animals, Telling Time, even Multiplication Rap, and Multiplication Country. With all these options (well over 50 different products), you can totally tailor a child's study program to individually fit them.
The rhythm behind the rock and rap music helps encourage memorization. There are no "educational fads", or "current trends" when it comes to Rock N' Learn, just mainstream material .
Rock N' Learn is now being used in schools to help students who learn best in ways other than the traditional textbook. It's multi-sensory approach really holds their attention.
What I Say: Well, it held Tater's attention, and that gets a seal of approval from me! No, really, he enjoyed these DVD's a lot. They aren't flashy, there is nothing that is not kid-friendly in any way. He repeated what the characters on the DVD were saying and I could tell he was really paying attention. These DVD's are going to be another tool for us to use along our preschool journey!!
