Monkey Brains Tween Hair Care Line Review and Giveaway!

Monkey Brains Hair Care line is a new collection of hair products made specifically for tweens! 

Monkey Brains noticed that there really wasn't a hair care collection on the market for tweens. There are baby/toddler hair products, and then "cool", "hot", and "sexy" hair products for teens and adults. But really, nothing for the 8-14 set. That's where Monkey Brains comes in! 

At $3.99 each, Monkey Brains products are affordable enough for tweens to buy with their own allowance, and they are all alcohol free. 

 Monkey Brains understands that one day you can't get your eight year old in the shower, and the next day he's asking for hair gel!

While I don't have a tween just yet, I do have a almost 5 year old who is always wanting spiky hair, and a baby who can really rock a faux hawk!! Case in point:

We recently got to try out a couple of Monkey Brain's products. 

We really liked Monkey Brains Gone Bananas Hair Refresher. The hair refresher is like a dry shampoo that you can use when you don't feel like taking a shower. Which, for a lot of tween boys, is a lot. I think this stuff is a great idea! I know that there are a lot of days that Tater fights me about taking a bath, and there are a lot of days that I give in and say okay forget it. This Hair Refresher will be great for those days! It smells great, really fruity and it is super easy to use. Just take two or three pumps and work it into hair. Tater really liked using this hair refresher, especially since it meant he didn't have to take a bath! Update: In the name of Reviewing Science, Tater skipped his bath last night so we could use the Hair Refresher. LOVE IT ! I honestly think his hair smells better than when he actually takes a bath! Maybe we will skip baths more often! (all in the name of science, of course!)

We also got to try the Monkey Brains Crazy Sticky Hair Gel. It smelled great, and even I used it on my hair! This gel is perfect for creating spikes or faux hawks. Tater really liked using this gel, and now asks me for spiky hair every day! 

I am really glad that we got the chance to try these Monkey Brains products. Tater really liked them, especially the fun packaging. He really felt special to have his very own hair products and being able to use them just for him. I actually think this new-found pride that he is taking in his hair may transfer over to other things too, like brushing his teeth and washing his hands. He is really liking feeling like a big boy, and Monkey Brains is helping! 

Monkey Brains has a total of eight products in their line, including two gels, two glues, a pomade, hair refresher, and a shampoo and a conditioner. I really like the sound of the shampoo, it is called Goop Out, and is designed to remove all the yucky build up that gels and hair sprays can sometimes leave in hair. This would be perfect for Tater, since we usually have to shampoo his hair 2-3 times to get all the gunk out!

I am really pleased with Monkey Brains Hair Care line, I think it is a great idea! Don't tell, but I am totally using these products for myself too!
