As a mom, one of the hardest things to keep up with with is housekeeping. It's hard when you are a mom of one, and believe me, it's still hard when you are a mom of four! Add in a few fur babies, a messy husband, and multiple outside the home jobs, and you have the makings of a DISASTER at home! However, it's a weird thing that moms do. We struggle with housework, but then we also feel guilty about hiring a cleaning service. It's so weird! Even in mom groups or family functions, it's almost like we are afraid to admit that we need housework help. It's like a whole other level of "mom shaming", and it's nuts! That's why I am here to tell you it is OKAY to ask for help when it comes to housekeeping, and here's why!
WE ARE MOMS, NOT SUPER HEROES!
Yeah, us moms are pretty awesome creatures, but we ain't perfect! (We even use the word ain't sometimes!) It's just literally impossible for one woman to run the entire show by herself. From working all day, to cooking dinner, making sure people get baths, homework gets done, school clothes are ready, that I pay a tiny bit of attention to my poor neglected husband, and so on and so on, there just ISN"T enough time in the day to get everything done. Some things, like feeding your family, or taking a shower, are non negotiable. So, what gets thrown to the wayside? In my case, it's the housework.
It is SUCH a good feeling to be able to come home to a clean house, not have to stress about it, and not have to do whatever chore it may be that you absolutely hate. (For me, it's bathrooms, and I bet some of y'all can agree!) It frees up enough time for you to be able to hang out with your kids, your hubby, your dog, or your friends. You can catch a movie on Netflix, or go to bed an hour earlier, because, come on, we all need more sleep! Really, taking the initiative to hire a house cleaning service can be life changing for a mom!
Bottom line, don't be embarrassed or ashamed! Be proud that you are smart enough to hire some outside help to come in and lighten the load for you! I promise, you will be glad you did!
