Life Updates: March 2016

I don't know about you guys, but I swear, it feels like my life is flying by like at a crazy rate of speed. I can't get caught up, and nothing will slow down, and I am most of the time just hanging on for the ride. Things have been so crazy lately, and I have been trying so hard to get back to blogging. It is one of my favorite things, and I get so much out of it, it's almost like therapy to me. So, I've definitely been trying to make time for it. Want to know what's been going on in our crazy life? I guess I should update you!
Also, the dog ate my glasses. Three times. Welcome to 30.

I turned thirty.   I repeat, I turned thirty. What the actual eff. There really isn't much to say about this other than I hated it. I still hate it, and I'll probably hate it every day for the rest of forever. I can't believe that I am thirty years old. I have to admit, that I am in a better place in my life than I was at any time during my twenties, but still, 30 will take some getting used to. I guess I am finally getting to that point that everyone talks about where you really don't give a shit about what anyone thinks about you or your life choices, and you are just out to please yourself. That's where I am, and I must admit, it's not a bad place.

We took our first family overnight trip.  This was also a biggie. Mountain man and I had never taken a trip with all four kids, overnight, in a hotel, since we have been together. We thought this was a pretty big milestone for our relationship, so on my birthday, we headed south to (where else?!?) my favorite place on Earth (Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, in case you're new here), to celebrate my birthday and spend some time with the kiddos. We had a great time, and spending the weekend in my fave place with four kiddos to take care of was a great distraction from the fact that it was my 30th birthday!

My baby can read. Yes, that's right. My tiny little baby can read on his own. He is only five, and his only goal in going to kindergarten was so that they could teach him to read. He got his wish!! I am so proud of him and all the things he is learning.

We are doing a lot in the finances/goals department.   After much deliberation, we have come to the conclusion that we are going to buy a house. We are also going through a Dave Ramsey-style budget overhaul, getting out of debt, and saving up to pay at least 20% down on our new house. Also, there is talk of babies. Details to come on that, I've said too much already! ;)

In other words, just like always, our life is crazy, out of control, busy, and most of all, happier than it's ever been. I don't know how I got so lucky to get to have this crazy wonderful life, but I am truly blessed. Lots of really exciting things going on in our life right now, and I'll be updating you guys more often, promise!!
