The Casio G'zOne Commando Can Handle My Family! Thanks, Verizon Wireless!

My boys are rough. I can't say it nicely, I can't sugar coat it. They are rowdy, rough, hyper, messy. And that is why I love them. But it makes me so nervous having expensive electronics around them. I just know they are going to get a hold of them and throw, break, step on them, etc.. I am just waiting for the day that a baseball bat, Wii controller, etc, goes through the front of the $1000 TV. I can just feel it coming... So, needless to say, I am always on the lookout for items that are built a little tougher than usual.

Enter my new best friend, the Casio G'zOne Commando for Verizon Wireless. If you don't know already, G'zOne phones are made to be some of the toughest, most durable phones on the market. They do not play around. The Commando is the first G'zOne phone to include the power of Android. So, not only is it tough, it's smart too! :)

If you're wondering just how tough, the G'zOne Commando meets all military requirements for water resistance, shock resistance and dust resistance. I was completely enamored by this phone. Seriously? Water resistant? Shock Resistant? Sigh. I loved it already.

When the Commando first arrived, I thought it was a little big. I was afraid it would be too big for me, but I got used to it very quickly. It has a casing (not an actual case, it's just how it's made) around it that makes it really really strong. It was a little weird to get used to holding onto it, it's so differently made than all other phones I have had.

The screen is really big, 3.6 inches. This makes texting really easy, along with the XT9 and T9Trace features. I had never used T9 Trace to text before, and it quickly became my method of choice! I can't believe how much easier that is than usual texting!

If you lead a really active lifestyle (Umm, not me) there are some really awesome G'zGEAR apps such as Earth Compass, Walking Counter, Adventure Training, Thermometer and Tide Calculator to make life in the outdoors so much easier! This phone would be great to take on any camping or hiking trip!

I was also really impressed with the camera. I thought for sure, a phone so "tough", would never be able to take decent pictures. I was so wrong. The G'zOne Commando has a 5.0 Megapixel camera with auto focus and flash. I also like that it has a dedicated camera key on the side, so that I can just press it to go straight to the camera.

The battery life on the Commando was also impressive. I could charge it overnight, and it would be good to go for a couple days! To me, that is a good battery life!

The Commando stood up to any challenge my boys threw in it's way. Tater set it down in a puddle of water in the floor. Commando? Fine. I have to admit, I dropped it out of my pocket several times at work, and each time, I would be so nervous to pick it up, but, it was always completely in tact! I am so sad to send this phone back! It has been the only phone strong enough to hang in our family! :)
