Review: Wahl Home Haircutting Cut

My boys and their hair issues have always been a problem for me. Tater's hair grows sooo fast, I can not keep up with it! Add to that the fact that every time he has to go get a haircut, its like at least $15.00, and he hates it. He cries and pouts and will not sit still.

So, enter the Wahl Home Haircutting Kit! Yay! I was soooo happy to review this product! As soon as it arrived, I could not wait to try it! But, as usual, I was a little nervous about it. What if I messed his little head up? He would have to go to school looking like a big fat loser. We already had a lovely incident when he was a baby, where the guard fell off of the clippers in the middle of cutting his hair, and I had to completely shave his head. I wish I could find a picture of that to share with you guys, it was sooo sad!

But luckily, I found some great tips for cutting kid's hair on the Wahl Website.  Here are a few tips I got from them.
  1. Hair is easier to cut after it has been washed, dried, and combed out. Wahl recommends washing hair in the sink and towel drying, and then a quick bath or shower after the haircut to remove any loose hairs.
  2. Wahl also recommends starting at the back of the head and working towards the sides. After you get the desired length, you can then work on the top.
  3. Always start with the longer comb if you are not sure what size to use. Then you can always go shorter if you need to.
  4. Use the clippers without the guard to straighten up around neck and ears.
  5. If you are still nervous, you can always just trim up the back of the neck between professional cuts, until you get comfortable.
What Mama Thinks:
I was so impressed with our new Wahl Home Haircutting Kit! We received the Style Pro to review. It comes in a really nice zippered case, which will be so helpful in keeping up with all the parts! And, there are a lot of parts! The Style Pro comes with an 18 piece kit for all your haircutting needs! I think the best part about this kit is that the clippers are CORDLESS! You can recharge it and use it again and again and again! I love the fact that I don't have to sit Tater up on the counter 6 inches away from the plug because our old cheap clippers wouldn't reach! It also comes with a cleaning brush, blade oil, blade guard, scissors, a styling comb, a mirror, 10 guide combs, the case, and a styling guide. What more could you ask for!?!
It was super easy to cut Tater's hair with this! He didn't cry that it was "pulling his hair", like he did with our old clippers. It worked so fast, and the cut was even and perfect. It was really smooth to use, and I was actually comfortable with it pretty fast! I still need some practice, but I am happy with the results from my first time of "real" hair cutting! Thank you to Wahl for helping us to save money, and keep my boys looking great!
