• Limit Their TV Time - TV time is ok occasionally, but too much of it will stop them from

What Should You Be Thinking About Post Labour & Birth?

In the build-up to birth, expectations are pretty heavy for how the birth will go. During the last month,
in particular, mothers focus so heavily on making sure the house is perfect and ready for the new
arrival. Moving on to then ensuring that the dressing unit is filled with nappies, wipes, vest, sleepsuits,
blankets, hats, booties… this list goes on. Often times, mothers forget that in the two weeks following
birth, their own body goes through a lot of adjustment. In fact, the first two weeks are just the start.

So what kind of things are worth thinking about?

Well, it is worth bearing in mind you are likely to bleed for anywhere between a few days a couple of
weeks. This will depend on if you are breastfeeding, how the birth went, if you have previous births
or a history of heavy bleeding. Where once it was all about the ultra thick sanitary pads, times have
moved on to a point where there are a lot of choices now, in fact, Innerparents have a brilliant article

Your stomach has been bearing the burden of your growing uterus and baby for the last few months.
In the final few weeks, it gets cumbersome. Your core is likely being pushed to its limits, meaning that
post birth you might feel some weakness in this area. In fact, it might cause you to feel slightly
unstable and ‘weak’ in the first week or so. A stomach support belt is an excellent idea for some
extra support.

High energy foods. Labour and birth are pretty hardcore in terms of the energy you use, and the
strength it takes. That on top of growing a tiny human for all these months is pretty tiring work.
So, something you should be mindful of is that you might not have much time to cook nutritious meals
with a new arrival. Ahead of birth, think about prepping some meals and freezing them. Lots of
vegetables, lean meats like chicken and plenty of iron-rich foods. Hearty soups, stews, pasta dishes
and plenty of water in easy reach. This part isn’t about dieting, it’s about replenishing energy and
getting you through the long nights.

Soft, stretchy clothing. While you are likely to be both simultaneously feeling svelte and a little wobbly
in some area, comfort should be a priority. It’s totally normal and is something that most moms go
through. It won’t matter if you’ve had a c-section or given birth vaginally, just having some soft,
stretchy clothing for the first few days is going to be nice and comfortable.

A supply of paracetamol. After a few days, your organs will begin to move back to where they once
were. During this time you might be in a little bit of pain with trapped gas, contracting uterus and
other aches and pains. Take it slow and take pain relief when you need to. Be sure to check with
your GP, or Midwife team to make sure you don’t take anything that is going to cross into your milk
or affect other medication you may be on.

Why It's Okay To Hire A Maid Service

As a mom, one of the hardest things to keep up with with is housekeeping. It's hard when you are a mom of one, and believe me, it's still hard when you are a mom of four! Add in a few fur babies, a messy husband, and multiple outside the home jobs, and you have the makings of a DISASTER at home! However, it's a weird thing that moms do. We struggle with housework, but then we also feel guilty about hiring a cleaning service. It's so weird! Even in mom groups or family functions, it's almost like we are afraid to admit that we need housework help. It's like a whole other level of "mom shaming", and it's nuts! From working all day, to cooking dinner, making sure people get baths, homework gets done, school clothes are ready, that I pay a tiny bit of attention to my poor neglected husband, and so on and so on, there just ISN"T enough time in the day to get everything done. Some things, like feeding your family, or taking a shower, are non negotiable. So, what gets thrown to the wayside? In my case, it's the housework. 

It is SUCH a good feeling to be able to come home to a clean house, not have to stress about it, and not have to do whatever chore it may be that you absolutely hate. (For me, it's bathrooms, and I bet some of y'all can agree!) It frees up enough time for you to be able to hang out with your kids, your hubby, your dog, or your friends. You can catch a movie on Netflix, or go to bed an hour earlier, because, come on, we all need more sleep! Really, taking the initiative to hire a house cleaning service can be life changing for a mom! 

Bottom line, don't be embarrassed or ashamed! Be proud that you are smart enough to hire some outside help to come in and lighten the load for you! I promise, you will be glad you did! It's definitely NOT something that is on my radar, at least not anymore, but I know a lot of people out there are looking for "the one" and are trying to get back on the dating scene. It doesn't matter if you are just starting out on your love finding journey, or if you are getting back in the game after a bad breakup or divorce, it's not easy for anybody. Even though online dating and dating websites have done a lot to make our love lives easier, it can still be a bit overwhelming. At least in my opinion, it is a little bit stressful, especially when the market is so saturated with different dating websites and places to make a love connection. Whether you are looking for christian dating sites, dating sites for "farmers", dating sites for people over 50, dating sites for people who like rock climbing, dating sites for people who like rock music, or dating sites for people who have pet rocks, you can pretty much bet there is a dating site for you out there! Imagine how crazy that would sound to tell a person who was born just a generation or two ago!

My advice would definitely be to do your research if you are wanting to join a dating site. Some are definitely more reputable than others, and some cater to very different crowds. It is up to you to do the investigation needed to determine which dating website is right for you.Can you imagine the embarrassment and worry you would face if, for example, you accidentally signed up for a "hookup" dating website when you are busy trying to find the love of your life? I can imagine that would be a pretty bad feeling, so don't get sucked into that type of situation! It just goes to show that if you are looking for love, there are plenty of opportunities out there, but don't get sucked into a bad one! Be careful with your decision making when you are in the online dating world, and make sure that you make good choices! However, if you are open to meeting "the one", then my advice to you is to get out there, explore the different types of dating apps out there, and find the one that is right for you! There is nothing to be nervous about and nothing to be scared of, so just jump in!
