New Squinkies For BOYS!?!?! And we say....

They are a winner!!! Seriously!

The other day, a GIANT box showed up on our doorstep. We weren't expecting a package that day, so everyone was very curious as to what was inside!

Check out what we found:

I know right!?

This is seriously almost every Squinkies toy known to boys!

Did you even know they made Squinkies for boys? Me either?!

I know that my nieces were head over heels for Squinkies last year at Christmas, but I really thought they were just a girl's toy! Not anymore!

Look at some of the cool stuff we got to check out:

So cute, so funny!

The awesome Skull Cavern Playset!
Tater's Fave? Marvel Squinkies, of course!

Cars 2? MOM loves these!

A close runner up? Army Squinkies of course!! (Or, "tiny Call of Duty Guys", as they have become known around here!)

Tater is in love with these! Blip Toys has really outdone themselves this time around! These are definitely going to be hot this holiday season! I am so glad that we got to get a sneak peak at them!

And now, we have to add these to our list:
(This one holds and displays up to 40 Squinkies!)

Tater can play with these little guys for hours! I love to see him create little worlds with them, and have each guy doing his own thing! So cute! The only downfall we have noticed?? Well.. the fat guy? Remember him?
Yep. That's the one.. Umm.. He.. thinks.. they...are.. (wait for it..) FOOD. Seriously. I have caught him chewing on Squinkies like thirteen trillion times. THEY ARE NOT FOOD! OMG. So, yeah. Make sure you keep them away from small fat babies. Every time I catch him with one, he's going "Mmmmm!".. Really? They are squishy, but they can't be tasty!? So, yeah.. invest in some sort of holding apparatus lol :)

Check out all of the great Squinkies toys for boys here!

Mega Bloks Blok Squad Construction Review

My big Tater is now officially a boy. We are into all of those fun toys with the millions of little parts. I love it though, these are the toys he is really into. The ones that he can spend hours with in his room, building and tweaking and getting all the parts just right. And, then when he comes out to show me what he made, he is just so very proud of whatever it may be!

So, imagine how perfect it was when we received the Mega Bloks Blok Squad Construction Site to review!

Tater was absolutely over the moon when he received this set! He LOVES construction vehicles, and building, so together the two were perfect for him! This set includes 395(!) pieces, so you better get something to store these tiny babies in! You can build three vehicles with this set: the construction 4x4 truck, the Track Loader, and the Road Roller. It also includes 3 Blok Squad guys (one for each vehicle, duh!!!)

Here's what the Mega Bloks site has to say about this product;

All missions are possible when you team up with the three Construction vehicles of the Blok Squad Construction Site! Build the Construction Vehicle 4x4 - a worker’s truck with optional trailer designed to haul more than a truck alone. With your Blok Squad Construction Worker, easily drive from the street right into a quarry! Construct the Track Loader - a big canopy, heavy lifting tractor with a huge shovel and tracked wheels. Move across any terrain and hoist the heaviest stones with your Blok Squad Construction Worker at the controls. Assemble the Road Roller - a heavy compacting machine that instantly crushes dirt, gravel and asphalt flat. With the help of your Blok Squad Construction Worker moving it into position, assist in making new paths and roads for Bloktropolis!

Band together with all three Construction vehicles to square-off a construction zone, dig out a quarry and level out the area to make it secure for your next skyscraper!

Tater played literally for HOURS with this set! He just turned five in April, so he did require a little bit of help with the whole building process, but it was actually a fun project to do together. Now that all his vehicles are complete, he is having a ton of fun using them with his other construction toys to all play together! I can't wait to get him a few more of the Blok Squad sets for Christmas so he can have a big giant Blok Squad City!!!

If you wanna check out these awesome construction sets for your big guy, click here! At only $19.99, this set is a perfect gift!

Review and #giveaway!! Samsung Prevail by Boost Mobile

By now, you guys know that I am not a commitment type of gal. I just don't dig it. So, I am always on the lookout for a cool, affordable and commitment-free phone! I was lucky enough to find yet another great one when I recently got to review the Samsung Prevail for Boost Mobile.

My first thought upon opening this phone was "Oooh, pretty!" It really has to be probably the fanciest "no contract" phone that I have ever seen! But we will get to that in a minute.

First of all, you can not argue that Boost Mobile has pretty much become the KING of "Pay As You Go" cell phone providers. Boost Mobile is ranked "Highest In Customer Service Performance and Highest in Satisfaction With Purchase Experience among Non Contract Wireless Providers" by JD Power and associates. Yup, that pretty much means they are the best.

Boost Mobile is pretty much one of the greatest deals you can find. Unlimited everything, Talk, Text, and Web. For only $50.00 per month. But, that's not all. With Boost, you get shrinkage. That means, for every six on time payments, your payment will shrink by $5.00. You can easily get your bill as low as $35.00 per month for unlimited EVERYTHING! You really can't beat that!

Anyways, back to the fancy phone! I love it! It's slim, sleek, and sexy! (Kind of like me before I had kids!) It operates on Android 2.2, which is one of the easiest to navigate systems. The screen is a super big 3.2", and amazingly crisp!

The camera is 2.0 megapixels, and is pretty great for a cell phone camera! Here is a pic that we took with the Prevail:

(Try not to focus on the super cute baby. The camera, people, the camera!)

We have been very impressed with the Prevail this past month. Great coverage, no dropped calls! Super affordable service, awesome apps from the app store, a great camera to take pics or videos, and all around just a great phone!

Now that our time with the Samsung Prevail has come to an end, we are giving it away to one lucky Flip Out Mama reader!!!

Whamo- Toys Mini Frisbee Golf Set Review

Much to my boys' dismay, Summer is now officially over. We are beginning to put up the pool, stash away the outside toys, and come up with some fun things to play indoors. But the thing is, my boys are not really "inside" kind of guys.. so I am always looking for toys that still allow them to be their active, wild selves without breaking everything in sight!

We were so pumped when we got the chance to try the Mini Frisbee Golf Set from Wham-O Toys! I knew this would be perfect for my guys: An "outdoor" toy that can be played indoors! How great!

This is such a cute set! The one that we received was a little different in color, but almost exactly the same! I was a bit worried when I opened the box, because I am NOT so great at putting things together, but this was super simple! I mean really, less than five minutes. The base has like four pieces that snap together and then you are done! It comes with six mini frisbee discs, that are not super hard. They are kind of flexible, which I liked, because, c'mon, someone is going to get hit in the head.

We immediately set our set (hehe!) up on the coffee table. It is a pretty small set, so I do recommend setting it up on a higher surface. If you were playing outside, an upside down five gallon bucket would be great! It was perfect for us on the table though! My boys are pretty short, so they were just the right size. Tater was NOT so good at first! We played probably ten rounds before he got the hang of how to throw the disc! Beanie, sweet little thing, just wanted to walk over and drop the disc in. Then he would clap for himself! Soo cute!

At just under $20.00, this set makes an affordable gift for the kid on your list! It is really cute, and has provided us with hours of fun for the whole family! It is so nice to find something that we can all play together! Thanks Wham-O toys for another great find!

Make sure to follow Wham-O on Twitter here and here, and on Facebook to stay up to date with all current promotions and cool new products!

OMFG. Getting Rid of The Pacifier.

So, we have been paci- free in this house for an hour and forty-three minutes. I think I am going to die. Seriously, why in the hell is this so hard? I did this once before, about four years ago.. and the results were MUCH different. When Tater gave up his paci, he was almost one and a half. We took them all outside to these stray kittens that lived in our backyard, (he was obsessed with them lol) and he gave them to them, willingly. And that was that.

Bean, on the other hand.. another story! He is so obsessed with the thing! He has been screaming hysterically for almost two hours! Ohhh, the tears! He is so pitiful! He just keeps saying "Ohhhh Nooo Baaaa!" (That's what he calls it.) Poor little baby! I am so tired of this.. I just want to give it back lol.. I am not strong anymore... Sigh.

I know it will be better for him (and us!) once it is gone for good! I hate seeing it stuffed in his mouth, and especially when he talks with it in! This is a big step for him becoming a "big boy" and I will just be very grateful when it is all said and done!

What about you guys? Any tips for getting your little ones off of the paci?

New Veggie Tales DVDS! (Review)

My sweet little Bean is just now getting to the point where he is interested in TV. So, I have been trying to find acceptable things for him to watch. I don't want to rot his brain, just yet anyways..

So, when we got the chance to review a couple of new Veggie Tales DVD's, I was really excited! I knew that these would be perfect for him!

I was really excited about the "Larry Learns To Listen" dvd. ANYTHING that can help my Bean be a better listener is welcome in this house! He has a tendency to be very stubborn, so I was hoping at least a little bit of good listening would be absorbed from this DVD!

Here's a rundown of Larry Learns To Listen:

When Larry’s new Space Squadron game finally arrives, he’s so anxious to play that he forgets to read the directions. When his friends do their best to tell him, Larry refuses to listen! What happens? His game goes ‘KERPOW!’ That’s when Larry learns a valuable lesson in listening as his friends come to the rescue. Kids will discover, right along with Larry, that God gave friends and family to help us through each day—so when we listen we don’t miss what others have to say!  Also includes two classic shows: “Pistachio” and “Josh and the Big Wall”.

This was a really cute DVD! It was a little over an hour long and actually kept Bean entertained throughout most of it. I think he really liked the Veggies bright colors, and he definitely liked the songs! He was dancing around the whole time!

We also got to review "Bob Lends a Helping Hand!" I knew we would have to wait until Tater was home to watch this one, because I really need him to be more into helping others (especially mommy!).
Here's a little bit about this one:
When Joe's mom breaks her big left toe, Bob the Tomato decides to help.  Larry and Joe offer their 'superhero' help, too, but that's not exactly what Bob has in mind.  Kids will discover right along with Larry and Joe that everyone can be a superhero if you lend a helping hand!

Includes two classic shows:
"Tomato Sawyer and Huckleberry Larry's Big River Rescue" and "Lyle the Kindly Viking
".

This was another super cute one, and it actually held Tater's interest too, much to my surprise! I am glad that both of my boys enjoyed these so much, and it is always nice to have a tv show or dvd to pull out when you want to reinforce a lesson that you are trying to teach them! As always, Veggie Tales knows just what moms need!

Virgin Mobile LG Optimus V Review and Giveaway!!!

I'm gonna be perfectly honest with you guys: I might be a little biased with this post. I am a little partial to prepaid cell phone providers.. I do not like the "big" cell phone companies, I hate contracts, ugh!! So, when we got the chance to do a review for Virgin Mobile, I was like yayyyy!

We received the LG Optimus V with one free month of service to review! The first thing I noticed was what a beautiful phone this is! Check it out!
Now, this is an Android phone, which means it is super easy to use. It is 3G and Wi-Fi capable. One of my favorite things about this phone is the screen. It isn't too big, but it's a good size at 3.2". It is a touchscreen, but has a QWERTY touchscreen and you can text using Swype text entry. You can also use the Android Market to download lots of cool apps!

There are so many cool things about this phone. I love that you can customize it with apps. I customized mine with an awesome live wallpaper. I love it! The internet speed is pretty awesome, I didn't expect it to be so great, but it is really fast! Plus, the camera is great!

I was also really impressed with Virgin Mobile's coverage in my area! The "big" companies never have good coverage in my area. One big company that I had, I was actually roaming IN MY HOUSE! Love it! Not with Virgin Mobile though, thank goodness!

And, come on, you can't beat a phone that is only $35 a month! Yay!!!

Now, on to the wonderful giveaway! One lucky Flip Out Mama reader is going to win this LG Optimus V for yourself! All you will have to do is buy the refill card and you will have yourself a fancy little cell phone! :)

Here is how to enter:

Sleep Tips From Sealy!

As most of you guys know, I have really been struggling lately with my work and sleep issues. There is just never enough time, never enough sleep. It really gets to me sometimes, and I just HAVE to find a way to fit it all in! Until then, Sealy has some awesome tips to help us all get the rest we need and deserve!

Sometimes it feels like we can never catch up on sleep!  It’s easy to let our personal health and wellness take a back seat to everything else going on in our busy lives. In addition to your health, missing out on a good night sleep could lead to many unfortunate consequences affecting those around you including relationship problems, alertness and memory. The effects of sleep deprivation can be widespread. Job performance, driving ability and even your heart health can be dramatically affected by lack of sleep.

Here are some tips to get your sleep and healthy lifestyle habits back on track:

o        Keep an exercise routine:  With the intense heat outside, this is the best time to utilize the air-conditioned gym.  If you get bored of using the regular machines, look into indoor basketball, racquetball, spinning or zumba classes. Exercising will keep you healthy and also help you fall asleep better at night.

o        Watch your food choices and portion sizes:  It is far too easy to loose track of your calorie intake.  Look for smart food options when you are at the next picnic by supplying a veggie dish or fruit salad and skipping the dessert from time to time.  Foods high in calories and caffeine can keep you awake at night.

o        Get your recommended 8 hours of sleep:  It’s easy to get side-tracked and stay out late when the weather is so nice.  Turn your bedroom into your own sanctuary with a luxurious mattress contoured to your   individual preference of size and firmness, allowing for a great night’s sleep.  From memory foam, innerspring, Posturepedic and adjustable beds, Sealy offers a variety to choose from.

For more information on Sealy mattress options, please visit www.sealy.com.

disclosure: I was not provided with compensation of any type for this post. I just really love Sealy, and really need sleep! :)

For The Gamers: Rugby World Cup 2011 Review!

We were recently given the chance to try out the new Rugby World Cup 2011 for Xbox 360. Now, I will start off by saying that sports games are not really any of my boys cup (cups?) of tea. They normally go for some kind of shoot 'em up game instead. I was not sure how they were gonna receive this game.

I am happy to report that my boys enjoyed this game thoroughly, although not as much as they would if it had been perhaps, football, or NCAA basketball, of course. I must say that none of us are all to familiar with rugby as a sport, so that made it a little more difficult for them to learn what they were doing in this game. The game was a little "FIFA"ish, they report. They really love that game, so I guess that is a good sign.

They did tell me that they wish that the game would have had some sort of tutorial mode. They say it was a little hard to learn the controls and what not when just being thrown into a game. But once you get used to the gameplay and the way that everything works, it can be a really fun game!

Bottom line, this could be a great game. IF you are really into rugby, and if you have the patience and willingness to learn how to play. Otherwise, you might get frustrated and not have very much fun with it.  My boys enjoyed it, but I am not sure it is a game they will be playing months from now.

We received a copy of this game in order to conduct this review. Although a sample was received, all opinions are my own and no monetary compensation was received.

Oreck Candles: Another Great Innovation from a Great Company!

Okay, I'm going to be honest here. I have a stinky house. I can't help it. I have a husband who works in food, a dog who is not always pottytrained, and two very smelly little boys. Candles are my favorite out, but a lot of times they just seem to mask the odors instead of getting rid of them...

I was really excited to try David Oreck's new Pure Air Candles. I love the Oreck Company, and every thing they produce is a quality product, so I knew that these candles would be no different!

These candles were really great at eliminating the nasty "boy odor" of our home! They leave the whole house with a fresh, clean scent! It isn't an overpowering scent like a lot of other candles, and I really like that. I really would love to have a couple more of these candles so I can put one in every room!
It's kind of like they "attacked" the odors in our house, which is definitely a win in my book!

Right now if you would like to buy some of these fabulous candles, you can get them on the Oreck Website for a fabulous deal! Buy one 22 oz jar candle, and you get TWO 11.6 oz jar candles FREE, not to mention another FREE peppermint candle with your order! That is an awesome deal for some really amazing candles! And come on, isn't David Oreck the cutest?

Is there anything cooler than Moon Dough? I think not!

We were really excited to get to try the new Moon Dough formula recently! We have played with Moon Dough in the past, and were always a bit disappointed by the super messy, falling apart dough... This time around however, things were much better!

We got to try the Moon Dough Ocean Pals Playset!

This was a really fun rainy day activity for our family! With this play set you get three push and pop tools, one mold and two colors of dough. That is plenty for both of my boys and me to play together at the same time! One thing that I really love about Moon Dough is that it is odorless. I hate the smell of that OTHER dough, so this was great for us! Another great thing is that it never dries out. Some people (no names!) around here have a hard time remembering to put things back where they go and they let the OTHER dough dry out.. This was a welcome change!

We were really excited and pleased with our experience with Moon Dough Ocean Pals! I love that it was less crumbly than last time. The new formula is definitely an improvement! If you wanna check out the new Moon Dough, click here!

Renting Textbooks?!? About Time!!

Soo.... did you guys know that this even existed? The possibility to RENT textbooks for college instead of buying them!?! I honestly had no idea that this was even possible! I really wish that this would have been an option for me when I was in college (for that whole 2 months lol!) This is such a wonderful idea, and a great way for college students to cut down on costs!

I recently came across this great site called CampusBookRentals.com, where you can rent textbooks. The first thing I noticed about their site was the ease of using it. You can search for the books you need by ISBN, author, title, or keyword. Another thing that I really liked about CampusBookRentals.com is that they offer FREE shipping both ways! Another thing that I thought was really cool is that it is totally okay to mark or highlight in the books however you need to! You just pay your rental fee, and then at the end if you want to buy the book, you just pay the difference. How Cool!?!?

The fees on the site are really reasonable! Most of the books that I looked at were between $30-$60 a semester, which is a hell of a deal! And if something happens and you decide you don't want or need the book anymore (or, like me, that you just don't wanna go to college anymore LOL) you can return your book for ANY reason within thirty days and get a full refund!

If all of these reasons weren't enough, CampusBookRentals.com has an awesome program with Operation Smile! Operation Smile is a wonderful organization that helps kids with cleft lip and palate. This year CampusBookRentals.com has committed to donate a portion of all proceeds to Operation Smile!

If you are interested in checking out this great site and renting your textbooks, click here!

Disclosure: I will receive a promotional product in exchange for this review. No monetary compensation was received and all opinions are my own!

New Goosebumps DVD's out Now!

I'm really excited to tell you guys about these two new Goosebumps DVDS, out since 9/13/2011! They have only been on the shelves for about a week, so make sure you go check them out!

Get goose bumps and keep the light on to ward off the ghosts, goblins, mutants and madness as Goosebumps®: Attack of the Mutant and Goosebumps®: Ghost Beach scare their way onto DVD September 13, 2011 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

With over 300 million books sold, R.L. Stine’s wildly successful children’s stories (www.scholastic.com/goosebumps ) come to life with two all-new terrifying tales. First, Attack of the Mutant includes “Attack of the Mutant Parts 1 & 2” and follows Skipper Matthews and his awesome comic book collection. Skipper’s favorite is The Masked Mutant, the story of an evil, power-mad super villain who is out to gain control of the universe. One day, while lost in a strange part of town, Skipper discovers a building that mysteriously resembles the Mutant’s secret headquarters... a building that magically disappears. Has Skipper read one too many comic books? Or does The Masked Mutant really exist? The DVD also features “Phantom of the Auditorium™,” a frightening story about a young actress who is thrilled after winning the lead in the school play... until the nightmares begin as there is talk of a real phantom who has haunted the auditorium for years.

Next, Ghost Beach includes “The Barking Ghost” and follows Cooper Holmes, a young man who is scared of just about everything. His father says he’s the only kid to scare himself on Halloween! But as he moves into a new house, this time Cooper is not just scared of his own shadow. In “Be Careful What You Wish For,” class klutz Samantha Byrd is the laughingstock of the girls’ basketball team. But now, Samantha has found someone who will grant her three wishes. Too bad she wasn’t more careful as now Sam’s wishes are turning her life into a living nightmare! Lastly, “Ghost Beach” focuses on Jerry, who is thrilled by the prospect of exploring the dark, eerie old cave he discovered down by the beach. When he hears the story of a 300-year-old ghost living inside, Jerry must decide if he will believe the legend or dismiss it as a silly made-up tale.

These are the perfect dvd's to watch with the little guys in your life! Tater has really enjoyed these, and I am really excited for him to become old enough to read the books! I hope he will enjoy them as much as I did when I was younger!

K'nex Review: Just as Fun As You Remember!

Do you remember K'Nex? I never had them when I was little, but I lived next to a house full of four boys, and I always had fun playing with K'NEX when I hung out at their house! We could literally play with those things for hours without getting bored! So, when I got the chance to review some K'NEX toys for Tater, I was super excited! I knew these would be right up his alley! He is so creative, and he really likes to build!

I was honestly blown away by how far K'NEX have come since I was a kid. They seriously have Mario Kart Kits, Orange County Chopper Kits, Sesame Street Kits, Nascar Kits, Monster Jam Kits, etc!!!I was completely in awe of how cool these things have gotten! But I must say, I was really happy to receive a "classic" K'NEX kit to review! It took me back to my childhood LOL! We received the K'NEX Classics 30 Model Building Set to review with Tater!
This is such a cool kit! These are the ones I remember! Oh, my boys (the big ones!) were so excited to see this package arrive! They got to work on building the motorcycle first, followed by the helicopter. There was, of course, much deliberation over what should be built first! With this kit, you can build more than 30 different things! The kit includes 375 pieces, which is more than enough to build anything your little heart desires! This was the perfect starter kit for my budding little builder, and it is has been played with every single day since it's arrival!

We were also lucky enough to receive two Monster Jam kits to review! We got Grave Digger and Mohawk Warrior, which were perfect for Tater! These kits were awesome! They were simple enough for Tater to do on his own, with just a little bit of help from us. They were enough to keep him busy for about 30 minutes building them, and forever playing with them! I LOVED the fact that these kits come with a cute little K'NEX driver! How cute! You build the truck and then you put the stickers on, and then you are ready to play! The box even becomes a ramp!Love it! These were a huge hit at our house, and they are affordable enough that Tater is going to start collecting all the trucks!

The last set we received was the K'NEX Nascar Set. This was a really cute set! It includes enough K'NEX to build two cars: We got the Home Depot Car and the M&M's Car! These are the micro scale versions of the cars,so they are really tiny (about 3 inches in length), but perfect for a little guy to play with!! These were also really fun to build, Tater did them almost entirely by himself! It's so cute to see him build stuff by himself!

The boys have also decided that they wanted some more K'NEX for Christmas, so we have added the following to our Christmas Wish List!

For Bean:

And for Tater:

How fun do these look??
If you would like to check out the cool offerings from K'NEX, just click here!

I received a sample product in order to conduct a review. Although a sample product was received, all opinions are my own and I received no monetary compensation.

Say Hello To Redakai! You Better Get Used To It!

Tater is finally at the great (dreadful?) age of Bakugan and stuff like that. I am not totally sure how I feel about this. I am not a big fan of stuff like that. It just seems so boring to me! But, it makes him happy, so I am able to deal with it! :)

I recently found out about an awesome new card game that is going to ROCK Tater's socks off! It's called Redakai, and it is made by SpinMaster Toys. (You know them! Moon Sand/ Tech Deck/Air Hogs/ Bakugan??That's them!) It's based on the new Cartoon Network show Redakai: Conquer the Kairu that debuted in late July.

The show is based on a 15 year old character, Ky, who is a student of ancient martial arts. He embarks on an amazing quest to find the Kairu, which is a primordial alien energy force. Ky and his two friends travle the world looking for the Kairu, in order to protect it from extraterrestrial teenage opponents. His hope is one day to become the greatest Kairu warrior, a Redakai!

He is still a little young for the whole card part of the game, but he is learning it fast! He has a couple of older friends who live near us who are into it too, and they are more than happy to teach him! The Redakai cards are really cool, very awesome looking. Some of them have a really neat 3D effect.

After I got the scoop on Redakai, it really is pretty simple, and I felt kinda dumb that I didn't understand it sooner! Here's a little breakdown for ya!

At the beginning of the game, you choose a character card. That will be your "player" throughout the game. Your opponent will try to "attack" you by using attack cards laid on top of your character card. Along with attack cards, there are also "monster" cards that you can layer on top of your character card to transform your character into a more powerful monster.

It really is pretty cool once you get the hang of it! Redakai has been voted as one of the top toys of the year, and will definitely be a hot ticket for the holidays real soon! So, if you have boys in your life, you might wanna check it out! It's not going anywhere!

If you wanna check out Redakai for yourself, and get a head start on what your kids are gonna be asking for this year, just click here!
