Snapware Review and GIVEAWAY: 14 piece Airtight Food Storage Container Set

Well, here I am again with another Snapware review.

I'm telling you, I love them. If they wanna get married, I'm down. ;)

Today I am going to tell you guys about the Snapware 14 Piece Airtight Food Storage Set.

These were really needed around my house. We ALWAYS have leftovers, and if no one can find a matching bowl and lid, then, well, they just get thrown away. I have been getting so frustrated at the amount of food we have been wasting, so these were perfect for us!

What Mama Thinks:
These storage containers were really helpful! I love the fact that they can all be stacked inside each other to save space! They also have made it really easy to find the right lids. Each lid has a design on it that matches the base. For example, if the lid you are using has 4 squares, you just look for the base with 4 squares and match them right up. As a mommy, I of course like the fact that they are BPA free. They also snap down on all 4 sides, which makes for a very tight seal, which is a must. I hate storage containers that you can't really tell if they are closed or not. These are so nice to have, we have been using the heck out of them!

Thanks again, Snapware! You always have just what I need! (I think that's called soulmates?!?!) :)

Review and GIVEAWAY: Snapware 10 Piece AirTight Canister Set

As, you guys know, I have an organizing obession.

Snapware came through for me once again to help me out with that!

This time, I got to review the Snapware 10 Piece Airtight Canister Set.

I really needed this set. All my stuff has been in mismatched canisters and containers since, well, forever.

But not anymore!

What Mama Thinks:
This is a great set! There is one large canister with lid, two medium canisters with lids, and two small canisters with lids. You also get three bonus measuring cups with this set: a 1/4 cup scoop, a 1/3 cup scoop, and a 1/2 cup scoop. I really liked the versatility of these canisters, you can put anything in them! These are especially handy in our house for storing cereal, since it seems like it goes stale after the first time you open the box. That also helps Tater with being able to fix his own cereal from the counter, instead of the big box on the top shelf of the cabinets! These canisters are refrigerator and freezer safe, but you should not use them in the dishwasher or microwave.  I am really happy that I finally got some canisters and they actually all match!

Thanks Snapware for having my back once again!

Review and GIVEAWAY: Snapware Cookie & Cupcake Carrier

Organizing products are probably one of the biggest weaknesses that I have. I love the idea of getting everything all nice and organized and together! (Not to say that I actually have everything all nice, and organized and together, but....it's the thought that counts, right?)

So when I got the opportunity to work with Snapware, I wanted to kiss their face! They are a company after my own heart!

The first product I got to review was the Snapware Snap N' Stack Two Layer Cupcake and Cookie Carrier. I have been wanting a product like this for a long time!

What Mama Thinks:
I love this thing! You can fit 24 cupcakes in it, and even more cookies! There are two trays, and each one is reversible. The cupcake side has little circles made into it to sit your cupcakes in, and the other side is just the plain tray to stack your cookies in. You can even fit a quarter sheet cake inside! The carrier is top rack dishwasher safe, microwave safe and freezer safe! I really like this product, and I will definitely use it with the holidays approaching, and especially to take treats to Tater's class! Yay!

Thinkbaby Bottles Review

Let me tell you ladies, if anybody can review bottles, it's me.

This fat little baby of mine, shew. He likes to eat.

A bottle connoisseur, if you will.

So when I had the opportunity to review for Thinkbaby Bottles, I was very excited about it!

Thinkbaby specializes in making bottles and baby products that are safer, and non toxic. All of their products are BPA free, phthalate free, lead free, nitrosamine free, pvc free, and free of any and all toxic chemicals.

I am not sure whether it was just the fact that I was so damn young when Tater was born, but I never paid attention to any of that stuff.  I didn't worry about if his bottles were safe, or what was in them, or anything like that. But, now, with the Bean, I guess I am just so much more aware

What Mama Thinks:
We got to review the Thinkbaby 9 oz bottles. They are really nice! I was first of all impressed with the way they look. They are just very modern, very cool. The nipples on the bottles are really cool too. They have a built in venting system that is supposed to be helpful in reducing colic. It helps to reduce the occurrence of gas and spit up.  Venting systems have also shown to reduce the risk of inner ear infections, which is awesome!

Thinkbaby has 7 styles and flow patterns of nipples to choose from. They are made of high grade silicone to help with the transition from breast to bottle feeding.

I also really liked that the bottles did not leak. That is because of the slow flow, cross cut nipple design. I was very impressed with these bottles, and so was the Bean. I actually think he preferred them over his regular bottles. The unique design made them easier for him to (try to) hold.

Thinkbaby doesn't just make bottles. They have tons of products, including the complete BPA free feeding set, BPA free water bottles for adults, even suncreen and yoga mats!

Check Out Thinkbaby Products for all of your babyfeeding (and more!) needs!

Gruene Steam Cleaner Review- Freakin' Awesome!

Okay, I know I've said it before, over and over, but really, I don't think I have ever been as excited for a review as I was for this one.

I have wanted a Steam Mop for, well, forever, but I am a)too cheap, and b) too skeptical to buy one. So, when I got the chance to review a Gruene Steam Cleaner, ahhh... Bliss!

My Gruene Steam Mop Cleaner arrived super fast, and in perfect condition.
Upon opening it, I was a bit nervous, as I usually am, about putting it together. I am always afraid I am going to break something when I try to assemble it myself.

But, I am happy to report it was super easy. Pretty much there are three pieces that just kind of snap together. Easy Peasey!

Now, one of my favorite things about the Gruene Steam Cleaner is that you can use any household terry or microfiber pad with it. You don't have to buy any special kind of "steam cleaner" pad, whatever you have around the house will work. I hate buying a mop, only to have to buy special pads and special cleaners to go with it. Not this time!

Also, the Gruene Steam Cleaner uses water (duh.) But just water. Nothing else. No special cleaners, just straight out of the tap water. I was a little skeptical about this at first, I didn't know if I would be happy with just water cleaning my floors. I was afraid I would miss that "clean" smell of all my usual cleaners. But, all you do is fill up the tank with water straight out of the tap.

The Gruene Steam Cleaner has an extra long cord, which is very nice. I feel kind of stupid saying this, but it has a very nice cord. It is really a heavy duty cord, and long enough to reach whatever you are trying to do without having to unplug and move it a thousand times. It also heats up very fast, probably only like 30 seconds, and the little light came on saying it was ready.

I started with the kitchen floor, since it is always the worst. We are talking chocolate milk spills, baby puke, and dog slop. And that's just from one day! As soon as pulled the trigger on the steam cleaner, it emitted that "swooshing" sound, just like an iron, and steam started pouring out. And the stains started to disappear. Just by running the steam cleaner over the floor, seriously. It just melted all the crap away. I was so pumped!
I was so impressed by the Gruene Steam Cleaner, I went ahead and cleaned all the floors! And, I only had to refill the tank two times! So, yeah, it lasted a long time without having to refill! I love the fact that the Gruene Steam Cleaner sanitizes the floors, too. This will really help when Bean starts crawling, I won't have to worry about the nastiness that will meet his mouth!

I was happy with the Gruene Floor Cleaner itself, but it has an added bonus. It is also a full, top of the line handheld steam cleaner. You just snap the middle portion off, and there ya go! The handheld cleaner comes with tons of attachments, making it useful for literally every room in your house.

There is a squeegee tool that you can use on windows, mirrors, glass top tables, etc. Also included is a garment hand tool that you can use for clothes or curtains. It even takes the stains out of mattresses! There is also a 3 piece nylon brush set that you can use on just about anything. I loved using it on our bathroom tile! The wire brush was probably the favorite around our house. When BD found out how perfect it was for cleaning golf clubs, he stole it from me! There is also a scraper nozzle that is supposed to be the shit for removing wallpaper! And the jet and elbow nozzles are perfect for hard to reach spots like around the toilet.

I honestly could not be any happier with the Gruene Steam Cleaner. I love the fact that I can use my own towels, and plain water, to make it affordable. I love the cord, even! I love the fresh "ironed clothes" smell that it gives my house. I love that I don't have to use a mop and bucket anymore. I love that I can clean around the toilet easier. I love the rubber mat that you sit it on so your floor doesn't get wet when your not using it! I love love love everything about the Gruene Steam Cleaner!

Thank you so much Gruene Folks! I have never been more impressed with a cleaning product before!

Review: Black Makeup Washcloths from Turkish Towel Company

Here's another one of those ideas that is so great, and so simple, that you don't know why it wasn't thought of sooner!

These are black makeup washcloths from The Turkish Towel Company. They are designed to keep you from ruining all your washcloths with makeup stains. I have this problem all the time, especially since I was so very smart and bought all white washcloths for our bathroom. Now they are all stained with eyeliner, mascara, you know, all that funky girl junk that we use. :)

What Mama Thinks:
I think these are a great idea! I can finally go get some new washcloths now and stop worrying about ruining them with makeup stains. Plus, these towels are sooooo soft! They don't stratch my face like my typical Walmart washcloths! :)

Turkish Towel Company is pretty much the standard in fine towels. All of their products are made in Turkey, in a town that is the world's largest center for woven terry products. Their towels are inspected three different times during manufacturing to ensure a perfect product. Turkish Towels are wonderful quality, and become fluffier, softer, and more absorbent with successive washings.

Here are some of their awesome products:

You can find Turkish Towel Company products online here.

Thanks so much Turkish Towel for introducing me to an awesome product!

Review: Funkibanz Kids Crocs Shoe Accessories

Funkibanz are a new accessory for kids to personalize their Crocs. They are super cute and affordable!

Funkibanz are easily attached to your child's Crocs, onto the back strap. They come in different styles for boys and girls.

We received a set of camo Funkibanz for Tater to try.

What Mama Thinks:
Well, since our sweet little potcake dog ate Tater's Crocs, we couldn't try them out on his shoes. But, Funkibanz can also be used as wristbands. You just take the little neon coil ring that comes with them, and they can be worn as wristbands. Tater absolutely loved them when we turned them into (what else?) Call of Duty bracelets!! He wore them to school and he said all his friends wanted to try them. So, now you know that they are a hit with the preschool crowd! I love the fact that Funkibanz are washable, and that even though they look stretched when you take them off, they go right back to their original shape in about an hour!

Thanks Funkibanz for letting us try your product!

Funkibanz is offering a BOGO deal right now too! Here is the info about that:

Funkibanz are available online here, and at all Great Wolf Lodge locations! ( Hopefully we will be visiting Great Wolf Lodge soon, and Tater can get some more then!)

You can also join Funkibanz on Facebook and Twitter!

Review and Giveaway: Movie Tavern!!

Okay Guys! I am SO excited for this giveaway!!

Do you live near

Williamsburg, Virginia?

Tucker, Georgia?

Fort Worth, Texas?

Aurora, Colorado?

Bedford, Texas?

Humble, Texas?

Denton, Texas?

Arlington, Texas?

Hilliard, Ohio?

Houston, Texas?

or are you awesome enough to live near
Lexington, Kentucky, like me??

Then you are in luck, because that means you have a Movie Tavern Nearby, and you can win some free passes!

Movie Tavern is an awesome concept that combines first run movies with an in theater dining experience. It really is the ultimate "dinner and a movie!"

What Mama Thinks:
We had the opportunity to go see a movie at Movie Tavern recently. I was very impressed with the Lexington, Kentucky location. The tickets for the movies are very affordable. We went to a matinee showing and our tickets were only $5.00! And Movie Tavern has all the first run movies, so you can see whatever you want!
You go in and buy your tickets, and pick up a menu. Then you go into the theater and pick your seat. All the seats have tables, and you can either choose a regular seat or an awesome leather wheely chair seat. (Guess which one I chose lol!) Then, when you are ready to order, you push this little button that is on your table, and a server comes to take your order. Anytime you need anything during the movie, just push the button and a server will come to your seat and help you with anything you need!

The food at Movie Tavern is awesome! They have tons of appetizers, burgers, wraps, pizzas and sandwiches, plus a million wonderful desserts. They also have a full service bar! We ended up splitting a pizza and two drinks, and our bill was around $20.00. You really can't beat that!

Movie Tavern also always has tons of special events going on, like Flapjacks And A Flick. On Saturday mornings at 9am, Movie Tavern offers a family movie and all you can eat pancakes. I think this is a great idea, and something Tater would really enjoy. We have been trying to incorporate "Family Fun Days" into our schedule, where we just do fun things together all day long, and I think this would be perfect!!

Another special event that Movie Tavern offers is Retro Cinema. This is only available in select locations, and I don't think mine is one of them. :( They have some great retro movies that they show, such as Grease, Caddyshack, and Back To The Future. I think this would be super fun to do with a group of friends.

Would you like to visit a Movie Tavern location in your area?

One Lucky Flip Out Mama reader will win TWO FREE PASSES to Movie Tavern! (The movie studios will not allow Movie Tavern to accept these passes during the first two weeks of a movie's premiere, but anytime after that is fine.)

Here's how to win!

Book Review: Raising The Dead by Chauncey Crandall

I recently had the chance to review a very interesting book by Dr. Chauncey Crandall. The book, called "Raising The Dead", chronicles his experiences in medicine involving the supernatural.

The book tells of his late son's struggle with Leukemia and how that loss brought him closer to God.

It also explains how that Faith in God helped him to deal with traumatic experiences he was brought to face in the medical field.

He tells about an experience he had when a patient came in that had suffered a massive heart attack. The patient was declared dead. The nurse began filling out the final report on the man, when Dr. Crandall says that he was hit with the overwhelming need to pray for the man. Then he directed the nurse to use the defibrillator to shock the man a final time. The nurse finally agreed, and it worked. The man came back to life and is alive and well today.

That is just one of the stories chronicled in this amazing book!

"Raising The Dead" is available through the Hatchette Book Group.
